BODY: AAAA Quilted Maple on (chambered) Alder

FINGERBOARD: Brazilian Rosewood, 9" Radius, 21 frets
PICKGUARD: Parchment (yes!)
HARDWARE: Chrome
PICKUPS: Sadowsky Humcancelling P/J, with VTC.

It's basically a 4-string version of this one:

That 5-string I linked to really spoke to me, as I needed versatility and
also needed to escape 3-color sunburst (I have 3) and natural (I have 2).

I am always GASSING for a '51 P RI, if I can find a good one
that is the old ivory/yellow tele color, not the new mustard yellow...

...Oh yeah, it should play really well and sound great.

Do you have a link to your 24-fret Sadowsky 5?

What did a computer music course look like in '81??

We did speech synthesis. Charles Dodge and Tom Jerse built an HP
system that did analysis based on Ken Stieglitz signal processing math.
Speech was digitized and then analyzed into a file of parameters that
controled digital filters, noise, and a pulse wave.

As I recall, the process of analysis was very slow. The analysis was
then used to drive a software synthesis engine (also NOT real-time).
The analysis file could be edited on a CUNY mainframe. My roommate
and I bought a Tandy (radioshack) model 1, which we souped up with
a full 64k of ram. It ran a Z-80, 8 bit cpu. Using Bill Gates' crappy
BASIC, I wrote a program that accepted parameters I gave it and
emitted a stream of WYLBUR edits for the analysis file on the CUNY
mainframe. This was sent to the mainframe via a 300 baud dialup
modem and some actually great terminal software written by my
teacher at Queens College (CUNY), Hubert S. Howe, Jr.

The result was synthesized (29 hours) and slowly dumped onto
computer tape. That digital tape was converted to audio and written
to analog tape (1 channel). I then edited (razor, block, splicing tape,
and paper leader) and mixed that into a 2-channel piece. It was called
"Jennifer's Speech," and was an excerpt from a poem by welsh poet
Derek Thomsen, read by Jennifer Lane. It was another lifetime. The
software landed me my first programming job.

Not to worry, I think my email was probably written after a very tiring
day of teaching or gigging, because I later realized I refered to your
Stewart World as a Walter Woods...must be one too many nights of
enforced root/5th patterns at Woodsongs, or maybe my dear, but oh
so lively, 2nd grader music class!
