My Situation

Man, I didn't read the whole thread but let me give you my advice.

I don't know you, you don't know me and the internet is a pretty weird place to ask advice for in those kinds of situations.

The only thing I can tell you is to get over it!!!

Relationships fail all the time, your story is not uncommon and it happens to a lot of people, it only looks worse than it is right now because you suffer from your affective dependence to this girl.

Don't go around screwing girls just to get over it, that's escaping the problem and not resovling it at all. Just go on, live your life and in a month or two, it'll get less and less worse until you go back to feeling good, not because someones loves you, just good about you.

When you get dumped by a girl you love very much, you feel like ****, loose all the confidence you have and just don't want to do anything else.

It's your first serious breakup, you'll have many others through your life, some better some worst than what you feel right now, you'll probably even hurt some girls by dumping them, it's just life.

Just go on without her, if one day she comes back, I hope it'll be when you get over it, so you can judge it from a perspective and see if it's worth it.

Trust me on this, there is not a thing in the world dumber than a person in love, it's like a drug addiction, you would do anything, you believe bullshhhh that is obviously false but you take it anyway because it's easier to believe. Right now, you are bassicly putting yourself in the position of a carpet and letting her walk all over you.

Trust me man, in a few months you'll think about this and find it pathetic.

Keep your head up, be a man about it, take the hit and even if your heart tells you otherwise try to stay logic and everything will be fine.

Whoa, chill out there, friendo! YOU are the one who laid out his ultimate heartbreak here for everyone on TB to see. Then, when people are basically bombarding you with nothing but good sense, great advice, and support (in the form of Jive's gut, no less!), you single out one and attack him based solely on the fact that "he's your age and therefore has no right to tell you how to live your life"? That's a total dick move, right there.

Dude has a point, too. You've just revealed to a group of complete strangers about her pube-grooming and the fact that after a numero dos, she busts out the baby wipes. Not only is that too much information, but a pretty clear indicator that you're not really up to snuff on the social graces. And you're wondering why she broke up with you? Surely this kind of behaviour can't be exclusive to talkbass.

The mere fact that you just said "I doubt your situation was as harsh as mine" leads me to conclude that if this is in fact your mindset, you're clearly not close to mature enough to even consider being involved in a long-term relationship at this point in your life. As if your tragedy is somehow worse than anyone elses... that idea, my dear boy, is completely laughable.

Dudes came in here to be cool to you, and you pissed it right back in their faces. You're only miserable because you want to be, R Kelly. Man up and cope.

+1. Just calling it like it is.

You just had the same girlfriend from the point you were old enough to have one. You developped a big big need of her in your life, relied on her for feeling good about yourself. Now, since you never have been single long enough to fill your needs yourself without depending on someone else you feel like a part of you has been missing and that is false.

I read the thread, and now I can tell you that your situation is nothing special, yes it's worst than a 15 yo couple breaking up after dating for two months but there are things far more horrible in life. So stop acting like it's the end of the world, it's not, you just need to get over it.

Now be a man, stay single for a while and learn to fill your needs yourself, to build up your confidence yourself, that is called developping as an adult.

Once you do that, you can think about being in a healthy relationship. Relying on someone to fill your need is not healthy and will always lead to yourself suffering.

Welcome to reality man.

I had a girlfriend of 2 years dump me for my best friend at the time.

so I kinda had the 2 people that I cared most about dump me when I was your age.

Yeah, that would be 10x worse than what's going on with me.

If that's the case, then you're doing fine. There are plenty of guys around here (Jady, Gard, Cheese, myself, etc., etc...) who have been through much worse and have moved on to happier places.

Since TB seems to be so big on clubs, maybe you all should create a new TB club...."we got dumped, but we still survived" club? It would be an awesome thread to watch you jokers argue about who would be member #1.

The next few weeks are going to be like a war with yourself, brother. You may not want to move on. You may not want to do anything but sit around and cry yourself to sleep. But you have to force yourself to try and get outside and meet someone else. It will be one of the most difficult things you've ever done, but you have to do it. It's a war.

Take it from me. I have Major Depressive Disorder. What you're feeling isn't even a FRACTION of what I've gone through in the past few years. But here I am, still alive. You'll make it, too.

Just put your head down and pound through it.

That's not anything I personally want to revisit. I'm happy now, no need to bring it back up...even if I go through divvy #2 (and NO, I do not expect to), I won't bring up #1, I'll just move FORWARD.

I'd be willing to wager that the rest on the list will say the same, right guys?
