N.B.A. thread

The Kings cleared about 2mil of cap space with the trade for Miller. Smart move for a guy (Sessions) that was under performing his contract.

The Sixers continue on with the plan ( whatever that might be because Hinkie isn't talking ! ) They have a wealth of 1st round picks now and are certain, with this latest trade, to have a reasonably high one this year. If a couple pay off Hinkie will be touted a genius.

The Kings deal also brought Andre Miller back to a George Karl system. Not that I'm a bug fan of Andre Miller but I swear I've been saying he's too old/slow to play point guard for the last 10 years and yet here he is. He might do some damage for them again.

The Sixers man i have no idea what they're doing but I think they also got the Laker first rounder thats only top 5 protected. All it takes is 3 years of luck in the draft lottery in a row and you can be the next OKC or Portland. Should be interesteing

Jerome Kersey died from a blood clot at age 52. What a bummer.

I remember him from back in the day. As a Sonic fan, the Trailblazers were the archenemy, but he was sure fun to watch with Clyde Drexler. He came around and played for the Sonics at the end of his career, but that just didn't feel right to me.

They were talking about that last night. I remember those Blazer teams. He was also briefly a laker. Man 52 is very young.

Its about that time again for the NBA playoffs. Figured I'd see if anyone wanted to join and put in their predictions. Funny how last time here I mentioned thinking Portland had what it takes to surprise people and make some noise. Now I see them as having the least chance in the west due to all their injuries. And of course worse case scenario happen for my Clippers and now the 2 hottest teams ending the season have to play each other in the 1st round. Stupid seeding rules. Still if the Clippers can beat the reigning champs they can beat anyone in the west. I predict.....

Clippers vs. Cavs in the Finals....Big Baby finals MVP hahaha

Reason, Chicago gets healthy and dominates with there deep lineup and star power, then battles Atlanta in a classic 7 game series with a missed potential game 7 winner by Korver. The Bulls go on to get annihilated by the Warriors (along with everyone else). Meanwhile Portland struggles to win a game against Memphis and hopes for better health next year.......

I'll say Bogut finals MVP for his defense....

I can see that for Chicago and theyre super deep if healthy. Mirotic is legit! But how do u have Dallas all the way to the western finals?

Thats one that needs explanation. Even more so then Atl vs Bkn in round 1 AND round 2 again ;p

That was a typo, meant for ATL vs. TOR.

Dallas' lineup is very similar to the one that won a championship, and towards the end of the season their chemistry was improving. If they avoid making Rondo mistakes and Ellis gets hot they will go far.

Yeah i can see Dallas getting by Houston then from there its all a matter of match ups. Alot of people forget but San Antonios hardest series was against Dallas last year before going on to win the title. And alot of that credit goes to Carlise who coaches his ass off and plays the chess game so well. Because of that they always have a chance.

Would love to see Dallas take out Houston. Beyond that, I expect to see a lot of tough, hard fought basketball. In the East, I have to pull for Atlanta, who is playing great team ball. Would love to see Cleveland knocked off before the finals. And of course, it's extremely refreshing to watch a playoff lineup that doesn't include my two least favorite players (Wade and Bryant). Looking forward to team ball ruling the day whoever wins.

Yeah Atlanta making it far would be nice. Its good to reward well coached and well played team ball, no superstar egos. Reminds me of the Pistons team that knocked out the Lakers. I get the Kobe hate though, even as someone being from LA, but why the D Wade hate? Didn't see him as a polarizing figure that gets love/hate from around the country.

Just never cared for Wade's game. Too much time falling to the the floor, flopping and whining. Would much rather watch a Kawhi Leonard or Anthony Davis type player - all game on both sides of the floor and no whine.

Yeah no complaints there. I feel the same way about James Harden although I'll admit he's got awesome skills.

Awesome 2 days of Game 1's. Although no real surprises yet in any series as far as my picks. Cleveland looked really good and it was nice to see what a full healthy bulls team can do, although for just 1 game.
