N.B.A. thread

Gotta give it to the Wolves. They were able to trade Love, who was gonna walk anyway, and turn it into Thaddeus Young, Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett. Wow. Young is pretty good, I think Wiggins is going to be a star and who knows on Bennett, who was injured last year. This year he is not injured and in shape. Pretty nice haul.

Oh definitely and to think a month ago they were getting criticized for not going thru with the Klay Thompson deal and asking too much for David Lee as well. Both good players but Wiggins and Young running the wings next too Ricky Rubio, very fun to watch.

Ballmer knows how to be excited. Just look at his Microsoft employeee meeting intro.

Haha yeah he was like that this past Monday in his introductory fanfest here at staples center. Not sure how long his ownership will be. Seems like a heart attack is inevitable every time he gets a podium in front of him lol

My Heat haven't exactly been anything to brag about. 45 wins is likely out of reach at this point. They've been banged up at times (they went 3-5 when Bosh was out), but most of their struggles owe to underperformance. They stink at point guard. Hopefully, Wade gets healthy quickly and can take over some of the point duties. On the positive side, Hassan Whiteside has come out of nowhere to play solid ball over the past two and a half weeks. If he develops into a pretty good center, the Heat should look better in the second half of the season.

The Heat actually started off the season looking like true contenders. Their offense looked solid and they where playing really good but then injuries happened and they havent meshed at all afterwards. And don't even start with Whiteside, he made my Clippers look like a JV rebounding team on Sunday lol But in the East the Heat are still a playoff team maybe as high as a 6 seed if they pick it up towards the end of the season.

We just finished playing them last night, and we beat them so I shouldnt be bragging about them as we might see them in the playoffs, but the Blazers to me are for real! Probably my favorite team to watch that isn't MY actual team.

I haven't been watching much Heat games this season but it seems like they are scoring some crazy low numbers. I'm talking sub 90 point games. I think I saw a couple 70 point games as well. What the heck is going on? On another note, I really hope the Pistons go on a crazy late season run and make the playoffs.

Atlanta might be the best team in basketball right now, which is pretty wild. They also had an extremely cool intro yesterday.:)

Damn that was pretty awesome. What sucks about Atlantas fan base is they struggle to fill there seats. For years they where always in the playoffs but lots of empty seats. They honestly are the best team in basketball right now and hopefully after a new owner buys their team they can get that stadium full.

Since it was brought up though, this is about the halfway mark in the season. Not literally record wise but from whats been seen, whos the favorite to win it all the way? I have to admit Portland is solid and might be my favorite, but Lamarcus Aldridge just went down. Hopefully nothing major.

Alright all star weekends over and the final strecth is here so good time to bring back this thread.

Wooooo what a day as far as the trade deadline goes. So many moves! Maybe an NBA record. So any new favorites to win it all now? Portland to me was already solid and think they just got alot better

How bad would it suck for OKC if Reggie somehow goes bananas in Detroit ala James Harden in Houston? If you look back at most threads pre-James Harden going to Houston, you can see that most people doubted his skill and All-Star status. Many people didn't even pan him out as a top 10 player in the league pre-Houston. Now look at him, potential MVP candidate, and arguably the BEST NBA player this season.

On Another note, I am really interested in the Dragic-Bosh-Whiteside combo over in Miami.

Guess ur one of those "eh theyll just turn it on come playoff time" fans. They havent looked that great all year. Guess well find out what they got tonight against my clippers ;p

nah, i'm just one of those 'since i was a kid and went to hemisfair arena in 1974 when james silas and the a.b.a. were a thing' spurs fans. whatagame last night, huh? i missed it, had a gig.

The Kings cleared about 2mil of cap space with the trade for Miller. Smart move for a guy (Sessions) that was under performing his contract.

The Sixers continue on with the plan ( whatever that might be because Hinkie isn't talking ! ) They have a wealth of 1st round picks now and are certain, with this latest trade, to have a reasonably high one this year. If a couple pay off Hinkie will be touted a genius.

Oh right on. Can't hate on anything from the ABA days. That was basketball with style. I wish they had a retro night in the NBA where they brought back not just the jerseys, but the multi-colored ball, and maybe even let the players play wearing gold chains haha

The game was pretty good, except for the "hack-a-whoever sucks at free throws". As a basketball junkie I know its part of the game, it's strategy, it is what it is. But if they're trying to pull in the common fan on the east coast that has to stay up till 1:40 just to watch the end of this game and all they see is a free throw fest for 30 minutes, I can see them turning off the tv and going to bed. Good game though

Yeah Reggie Jackson as a future MVP candidate, don't see it happening. But going nuts working with Stan Van Gundy, I can see that. On the flipside going into SVG's doghouse and not getting a chance to shine, sadly thats possible as well.

But Dragic and Whiteside, 2 players I have in my fantasy league actually, yeah I'm salivating to see how this turns out haha

Jerome Kersey died from a blood clot at age 52. What a bummer.

I remember him from back in the day. As a Sonic fan, the Trailblazers were the archenemy, but he was sure fun to watch with Clyde Drexler. He came around and played for the Sonics at the end of his career, but that just didn't feel right to me.
