I am so glad I bought a Streamliner 900 instead of the SVT Pro7, I might have got a good one but I would be worrying about it cutting out all the time instead of just enjoying my playing, I believe a player should feel confident in his/her equipment if these amps are so sensitive then surely that erodes confidence ?

This seems to be a common problems on some newer ampeg amps . I had a 97 svt classic .That would self protect over the smallest change in power condtions @ my 2006 U.S.A Ampeg svt v.r also had same issues until i read there are some mods that can be done . I took a chance and since the mod i have not had any problems . It seems Genz Benz has it right . Never heard any bad problems with there design . I agree its not where its made its more of the design .

I know you're upset as anyone would be, if you had heard the Rev C00 were fine, and then found yours has that same problem. I hope Ampeg resolves your situation as soon as possible. Good luck.

I'm going to the store on Friday but I still don't know what to do. I won't be able to give it back because it's been 2 months. I might be able to replace it but that store only has SVT3Pro/SVT4Pro/SVT-CL and some Mesa Boogie heads. I don't really want to pay extra for any of those because I like the sound of the 7Pro. :/

-EDIT: Best thing that could happen to me is that they agree to take it back and give me the money back, even if they keep like 5-10% to themselves. I'll just buy a GB Streamliner when I fly to work in the US/Canada next month. :/

I'm not giving up so easily, this is still my favorite-sounding amp!

Currently, it's connected side-by-side with my MarkBass through the same socket with 2 Air Conditioners running. The difference this time is that I disconnected the DI cable. I'll keep 'alpha testing' it tonight but if it happens again, I'll take it back to the store tomorrow.

p.s. yesterday it rebooted at least 10 times in 30 minutes. However today, it's been 0 so far in 30 minutes. Could it have been the DI cable/port?

The D.I. should not have anything to do with power problems, as it just carries a low-level instrument signal. Do you have access to a multimeter? Might be worth checking the line voltage, especially as the AC cuts in and out.

The D.I might be short-circuiting the amp, forcing it to shutdown for self-preservation. **** if I know. I don't have a multimeter around but so far, 90 minutes of playing and 0 cut outs so far. I'll keep testing for another hour.

If it is, that sounds like an easier fix than you might have anticipated. Not that I have a clue in hell what it would be...clearly I'm just trying to make you feel better But maybe it's in the path from the DI to the board and not in the board itself. At least we can hope.
