Okay so... as mentioned here, I recently snagged this cool Reverend Decision P. I'm torn whether to name the bass Mira or Blush.

Well... I took the plunge and now own that mulberry pearl Reverend I just talked about.

The Prestige Soundgear I let go of to bring home the Reverend would/could objectively be classified as the superior bass, but the Rev is more in line with what I like (especially the neck profile. Soundgear is too pencil-thin and narrow for me).

A patron at the music store practically said to me, "Bro, I'll literally buy that Reverend for you right now if you give me that Soundgear! I've always wanted one of those!" I like to do things by the book, but since this was a mom 'n pop store, they...

For fun at work today, I had the students I work with vote on which name: Mira or Blush.
I'm also having friends and family vote on which name (for fun).
And since one of my friends (with my "sure, why not?") put the poll on his Discord server, I thought, "Why not put the poll on TalkBass? See what The Internet thinks would be the more suitable name."

So there you have it. All just for funsies. Got my choices, got/getting the student vote (which includes some coworkers who wanted in), the friends vote, the family vote, the Internet vote...

I'm planning to use the results here as part of a math class warmup with students, so I'll end the voting Sunday night. I plan to have the students add up the student body votes, family votes, friend votes, Internet votes to see which name wins. They're invested in it (since they voted) so why not make a fun-math thing?

Appreciate you taking a moment to vote in this silly-fun thing and for offering your reasoning. Asking "why did you choose that name?" along with follow-up questions is I can use when practicing reasoning and conversational skills with the students.

(I work in special education, specifically with high school students. So things like reasoning, conversational skills, connecting math to something they actually did, stuff like that is good for them. If I can turn a silly-fun thing like this into something teachable...).

Oh yeah, I remember you talking about your teaching job a long time ago. I remember asking if you taught at the same school my mother-in-law used to work at (CHE?). Don't remember what you said, though. She retired probably 20 years ago , if you go back that far. She was the secretary for one of the vice-principals - Len Terranova.
