Name the wood!!

Hey guys I need some help. I'm trying to help my friend sell his custom made bass but I dont know what woods his bass is made up of. If anyone on here can tell me what they are that would be amazing!!!

Yea its pretty heavy but sounds killer under a microscope so I was thinking Maple neck and mahogany body but I wasn't 100% sure

Really unusual saw angle on the body wood, but the uneven and saturation of the stain suggests a pine or conifer to me.

Yeah it is walnut colour but walnut usually has a more uneven grain. Stained ash was a good shout. Mahogany is a possibility but I thought that was a tighter grain ...

Maple neck, I am guessing stained ash on the body. I stain my bats with a walnut colored stain, and that's how it looks.

Then it is probably not walnut if the wood is lighter under /at the wear spot. The grain does not look like walnut to me, more like ash, hence my post above. Are there any areas of the bass that show the natural color of the wood, say, in the neck pocket or a pickup cavity?

The give away is the unoiled wood under the plate in back. Not the shielded area, but around it. That looks like raw walnut to me. The grain is very similar to a lot of plain sawn walnut that I have use in my furniture building which is what I do when I'm not playing bass. That body sure looks like oiled walnut, the spot near the pickup is most likely a dry spot where the oil needs touching up. Just my opinion of course. Here's a pic of some oiled walnut that looks similar:

I think stained ash is a good guess too. I've never seen mahogany with grain like that.
