I had no idea who the builder of these were until someone mentioned it.

That bass on the far left with the black 'stock looks FINE

/GAS

reversed?

The bass has a "normal" P pickup and sounds KILLER. Here are some fresh pics of the bass sitting on the bed beside me back at the hotel in Anaheim (I won't say which one :hiding:):

Want to hear a great story of when GAS and destiny collide?

I wanted a PJ5. I saw the Fodera PJ5 at bassexchange (the first PJ5 Fodera I've ever seen):
Invalid Link Removed

But I didn't want ash/maple. I wanted alder/rosewood instead, in white/red tort/rosewood like my trusty 1966 P bass. I went to the Fodera booth to see if I could order the following bass:

NYC Empire PJ5, 34" scale
White with matching headstock
Alder body, rosewood board
60's pickup placement
Red tort guard
Black hardware

I walk up to the booth and the bass I want to order is sitting there unsold!

The coolest part is when Joey and I got to talking, he said that this is only the 2nd PJ5 they have ever made... the other is the ash/maple at bassexchange. They read my mind! HOW COOL IS THAT? :)

Happy to hear that you dig that PJ...I played the one at the Bass Exchange and didn't dig it. I though the weight was perfect and the neck felt great but the P pickup solo'd didn't sound like a P Bass and the B string was floppy and toneless.

Congrats on the new purchase!! I hope is is everything you wanted in a new bass!!!

First of all I know where Lowell is staying....I am guessing he went for the Fodera since this was unavailable.

Secondly as far as the Pope onboard pre's go I forget most of what I heard but I will say I talked to Mike about his rack pre's some and yes they sound good he also had a simplified version that he had just gotten together that I believe will be on his site soon.

:D Kismet. :D

Not to sound like a broken record, but did you spend any time at the Sadowsky booth? That blonde bass with the quilt top has my attention, and I'm a little bit curious about the action on the Will Lee bass. I've heard he likes his strings high, which is cool, but a second opinion is always a good thing.
