NBA Playoffs

Woot!:D

The Celtics could've blown'em out if they weren't so sloppy on offense at the worst times. Rondo put up good numbers, but he had 7 turnovers. Ugh.

Hey Mike, the team that wins game 5 of a Finals after a 2-2 tie has won 85% of the time. The lead pipe might have a dent in it.;)

Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to watch every game, but in my opinion, Kobe Bryant should seriously be considered for Finals MVP even if the Celtics win the title. He's just the outstanding player of the series.

I think that Lefty should, or Gasol. Gasol is a hell of a lot more consistent with being good.

As for the Celtics: He may be a bench player but Big Baby or R. Allen (which Allen is on the start 5). Allen broke a record or something.... and Big Baby Davis has been doing hella good this series, better than KG lol :p

Difference is Bynum. His defense (and offense) in the first 3 games was huge. KG doesn't have these games and Pierce and Rondo don't drive to the basket like they have with a healthy Bynum out there.

Kobe made more impossible shots than I have ever witnessed -more impressive than even Ray's streak of 3's which had a lot of open or lightly contested shots in there.

I'd be more than OK, with Kobe getting MVP in a losing effort. Pretty sure everyone on the Celtics would be as well.

This ain't over though - the Lakers came out with some insane intensity in Game 1 and if they do that again, they can win. That said, I like the trendline - Celts seem to be playing better in each successive game while the Lakers seem to be fading a bit.

Kobe's streak was impressive, but I still believe Isaiah Thomas's performance in the third quarter of the of the sixth game of the 88 finals where he scored twenty-five points on a sprained ankle was the best finals performance I ever saw. Ironically, I don't believe I ever saw a great finals performance from Jordan, because I don't believe the Bulls were ever really tested in a finals. They were pretty much the Kings of the hill when they got there.

I do agree its not over, but the Celtics have turned their defense up a notch for two games now, while the Lakers D has disappeared. Unless Bynum can give the Lakers 30 good minutes, I suspect it is over. I wonder if Jackson would have done better to hold him out of that game, the extra three days rest and treatment might have made all the difference for game 6-7. As it is now Bynum had six points, one rebound and zero blocks last night. Also Doc Rivers is going to Sheed more and more, Sheed is giving the C's what LA needs from Bynum. He's blocking shots, rebounding, and he gives Gasol a tough time on the ball. For twenty minutes he's the best post defender on the floor and one of the best in the league.

the one game in the series that i couldn't watch, and judging from the recaps looks like the best game in the series :(

here's my thoughts after 5 games: it's not over yet, but the winner of this series will definitely have earned it. i hope the rest of the lakers come out with kobe's intensity tomorrow, even if they can't match his abilities. here's to another great game :bassist:
