Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to watch every game, but in my opinion, Kobe Bryant should seriously be considered for Finals MVP even if the Celtics win the title. He's just the outstanding player of the series.
Difference is Bynum. His defense (and offense) in the first 3 games was huge. KG doesn't have these games and Pierce and Rondo don't drive to the basket like they have with a healthy Bynum out there.
Kobe made more impossible shots than I have ever witnessed -more impressive than even Ray's streak of 3's which had a lot of open or lightly contested shots in there.
I'd be more than OK, with Kobe getting MVP in a losing effort. Pretty sure everyone on the Celtics would be as well.
This ain't over though - the Lakers came out with some insane intensity in Game 1 and if they do that again, they can win. That said, I like the trendline - Celts seem to be playing better in each successive game while the Lakers seem to be fading a bit.

the one game in the series that i couldn't watch, and judging from the recaps looks like the best game in the series
here's my thoughts after 5 games: it's not over yet, but the winner of this series will definitely have earned it. i hope the rest of the lakers come out with kobe's intensity tomorrow, even if they can't match his abilities. here's to another great game![]()

That's because I bumped last years thread as a joke.![]()
