NBA Playoffs

OH SNAP!

Crank the smugness to 11, cue Freddie Mercury, Let the rioting...I mean celebreation begin. w00t w00t!

Great game. Oogly offense and free throw shooting all around and damn close. Boston put one hell of a fight, especially in that last minute.

All you Laker haters can **** it! ;) It was fun jawing with you guys.

P.S. I bet Trevor Ariza is kicking himself.

Well, congrats to the Lakers. Gasol played very well, and give Kobe credit for recognizing he didn't have his shot and he needed to take it to the rim (and would get the whistles at home).

Still, big choke by the Celtics. Ray Allen, good grief.:rollno:

Well, Congrats Laker fans-great game. I picked the C's but I sure didn't have any dogs in the hunt. My Pistons were out of it in October. Probably the best officiated game of the series. The C's just didn't execute on offense, too much one on one. Neither team was a great team, but the Lakers were the better team when it counted.

Celtics got jobbed. F$%#@ you lakers, Jack and your fans.:spit:

We got **** calls. That was so up and down on Gasol and they didn't say it and a few times someone one the lakers would clearly charge someone on the celtics and they would call a foul on the celtics. And Kobe acted like a douche at the end, I mean come on! Look at Gasol, he (IMO) did way better and was more consistent in this series (the whole season/post-season as far as I'm concerned) than Kobe and you didn't see him running around rubbing it in people's faces.

We got screwed.

Celts got jobbed period. My statement stands. If anyone thinks the refs didn't hand the game to the Lakers, they don't know basketball. When they took the whistles out for the fourth quarter, they simply looked the other way when Boston had the ball. I don't know what the # of fouls were but I guarantee it was way in favor of the Fakers. No F$%^#&^ Faker fan betta say nuthin' to me for a while. TFS

Poor Wallace got screwed. A few of those fouls (including the last one) were him getting charged and the foul being called on him.

Celts should of won game 6. From the looks of how they played that game I would not be surprised if they took a dive for the promise of bigger winnings if they allowed a game 7 to happen. I mean some of the shots that were taken weren`t even shots - we`re talking from the free throw line, no man guarding you, lobs at the goal that got no where near the bucket. I`m beginning to think these finals are staged.

The Lakers earned the victory, they defended better than they have all series and regardless of what Kobe or Jackson will admit, a victory over the Celtics especially in a Game 7 means more than beating the Magic.

That said - the Lakers have a grand total of 3 victories over the Celtics in the Finals which, if my math is correct is, 6 less than the 9 Celtic victories over the Lakers. But who's counting? ;)

Greg - the Celtics did not choke, as a Red Sox and Celtic fan, I have seen a lot of choking both by my teams and others - Ray had a bad night shooting but Kobe shot 25% from the field with Ray guarding him - did Kobe choke or did Ray play good D? The Celts ran out of gas and still nearly stole it. Time to rebuild.

In general, the refs let them play, which helped the Celts. They were not the story - thank God.

Artest and Wallace came up big for their teams - go figure.

I'll take a little comfort in the savings in police overtime tonight and tomorrow. Stay safe LA TBers until we meet again.

Thank you for the first sane post of a Boston fan tonight. Celtics are just too old to finish this series. It was a defensive game so neither team choked, this was both teams at its best. Good game and will be a series looked back on as a great one rivaling the likes of 88 and 04. Don't blame the refs it was a fine job some unnecessary calls BOTH ways, but it didn't change how the outcome would've been.
