Well technically I got it yesterday, but I just wanted to post about it. Yesterday, I finally got this bass after about wanting for around three years now. One knob is not original, but that's no big deal. It's in great shape. I love everything about this bass! It's cool to have such a great piece of history. I'm sure there will be some Gibson bass haters, but I don't care. To me, these are one of the coolest basses ever. Oh yeah, also came with the original case! Thanks for looking!

Even Gibson bass haters can't deny how cool that is. What's the case look like? same shape or a big box?

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

The case is in the shape of the bass. Classic pink interior. Made by Lifton.

The pickup is actually a single coil. From what I've read it has 25,000 wraps. It's hot as hell.

It's got the classic Gibson deep low end you would expect, but it has it's own unique tone. It's a bit clearer than a 60's EB humbucker. Tomorrow I might try to post a video to demonstrate the tone if I find the time. It's an animal for sure.

    Thanks again!

Another thing that was nice was that though I heard a lot of complaints about the weight, I don't think it's too heavy at all. However, it's heavy enough to wear it still feels very solid and sturdy. That's a nice change from my 60s EB-0 which I also love, but feels a lot more fragile.

I will definitely try to get around to posting a soundclip or video very soon.

Thanks for the compliments on it, everyone.

And godofthunder59, you definitely have some AWESOME Gibson basses as well! Your amp collection is second to none also, in my opinion.

Anyone who hates on this instrument hates the bass guitar.

Great score, brother. Thanks for sharing! What are you gonna string it with?

This is the kind of violin bass I like. Hofners are nice, but this is something.

wow. there's something you don't see every day!

I remember when Jim Roberts from bass player did an article about these about 15 years ago. really neat with the brown pickup.
