Okay, so...

In an effort to begin to consolidate and upgrade my bass collection I've been hunting for some "staple basses". A Fender American Precision was always number one on that list. I've been searching Reverb and Craigslist, and saving to reach the goal. Out of the blue, I went to Craigslist tonight and saw, "posted one hour ago" and I immediately got in contact with the seller.

Her friend owned a music store that closed down and he gave her a couple of instruments. She picked this one out and never played it for about four years before deciding that she just didn't want it around the house anymore. I talked her up, yes UP to $700 with the case. It still has all of the case candy and the plastic over the pickguard.

I'm honestly still in shock, but I'm now the owner of a Fender American Precision Bass.

I'm not a Jazz person but I couldn't resist an incredible offer on one of the last Standards before they switched to the Pros.
And statistics don't lie: it's had playing time every single day for over one year now. And I'm still not a Jazz person: it's not my tone, it's not my body shape, it's not my neck profile. But darnit, this thing is so well made.
Congrats on the great find + elegance.
