NBD - 50's style precision with a metal flake refin

I bought this bass quite a while ago, with the sole purpose of it being refinished by a young man from my church. He is gifted and hard working and is planning to attend Luthier school this fall. He has been refinishing guitars for a while and does a great job. I wanted large metal flake and he wanted to give it a go.

In all honesty, he hated doing the large metal flake and says he might just stick to more standard refinishing. That being said, I like the finished product! Pickguard arrived today so I snapped some pictures.

Wonderful job, looks like you dip a glass in it and get some.

Those Squier OG Precisions are a great buy for that style bass, with the advantage if you DON'T want slab sides, they have the elbow rollover and a tummy cut.

Agreed. With Dunlop super bright nickels, it sounds quite good. There's just something about a single coil in that sweet spot. Really is a great sound.
