I think you got a better looking bass. The one in the original pic was terribly matched. If its the same the filter they used didn't do it any justice.
The picture was taken in perfect conditions, then edited by pros to not show truly what your getting in normal conditions but over enhance the product into unrealistic territory. Kind of like food commercials were none of it is really the food your getting and all tricks of the trade, like using glue for milk in cereal ads. But its suppose to represent the food your going to get. You then go order and look at the food and it looks like a pile of crap compared to all the shots in the commercial or printed ad.

Here’s the deal and I’m not here to cause any trouble…. At no point in any description of a Euro LT have I seen one described as having other than a “figured maple top”…. They never describe it as AAA or even AA. Your bass appears to be AA. Anyway, they are not expected to leave the factory with as nice of a top as the one in the first photo, but occasionally they will. It sucks that you feel that you were misled. Perhaps you were, but you weren’t misled by Spector.
There are special one off limited runs of Spector Euro basses that will have slight changes and upgrades. Some will come with AAA Tops, but they will clearly state it.
If you aren’t happy, return it. Simple as that.

The wood grain figuring is not the same. It’s a different bass.
It IS the finish you ordered, but it ISN'T the one in the first picture, certainly.

The 'glamor shots' that every manufacturer and most stores use is the prettiest, NAMM show display model, and they use the same pics online, in the catalog, and pass it along to some of the vendors, like where you bought yours. It happens, and often many of the same thing are just not quite the same due to the vagaries of wood and how it takes finish from one serial # to the next.

It seems to be a misunderstanding, the guy meant the same model and color not the exact same bass. But today returns are taken back no problem without needing to justify a reason. So if it bugs him he can just send it back and try again for a more desirable top or just get a different bass.
If your set about seeing the exact bass you will be getting use Sweetwater. They actually photograph each individual bass they sell and even let you know the weight. Every photo they take is under the same lighting with the same camera so your seeing consistent photos that you can compare bass to bass or model to model to see how the finish looks.

I understand your point of view and I agree completely with you. You were either lied to or the GC associate simply didn’t know the truth. Your bass still looks pretty good and I hope that you can figure out if it’s worth what you paid and will satisfy you.
Guitar Center phone reps cannot see the actual bass you're buying. It's boxed up in a warehouse somewhere. The only big box online music store who shows the actual bass with serial number is Sweetwater. He didn't lie to you. He just misunderstood what you were asking.
If you don't want to keep it, call GC and they'll send you a return label, free of charge. Won't cost you a dime to return it. Their customer service is actually quite good in situations like this.

Clearly not the same bass, it's the same model & finish yes, that being said the contrast of the 'centerline' of the bass you received is no where even close to the stock pic (lighting or not).
I like the look of the contrast of the brighter blue center so for me would it would definitely go back.

Nope. Not only is the entire flame pattern different, but the 3 pieces of the neck are obviously different.
Looks good to me...but I agree, if you're not happy return it. Your Sweetwater Rep will work with you.
