Introducing, "Big Butter".

Just finished this build. Warmoth swamp ash P body factory finished in Butterscotch Blond. Allparts P Bass neck finished with Gun Stock Oil with a gloss finish on the front head stock (for a decal).

Fender Vintage hardware. Rio Grande Vintage Jazz Bass pickups. Volume, Tone and Blend knobs. Warmoth 1 ply white guard with J neck hole cut by Bassdude51. Jazz neck pickup route lays on top of a factory P rout with only a little extra wood removal needed.

Weighs in at 9 lbs 6 oz. (Warmoth body is 5 lbs 9 oz.) Eleven oz. could be shaved off with lighter knobs and Gotoh Res O Lite tuners for a 8 lbs 11 oz bass.

Sadly, I have more fun building basses than playing them.

Why the Fender logo, it's not a Fender. Posts like this should probably be pulled. The world doesn't need another fake Fender. Nice bass anyway? Prediction -OP will say he will never sell it anyway, and if he does, full disclosure will be made on the reality of origin. Then somebody else will point out that once it's out in the market years from now, it will possibly be misrepresented/cause confusion.
UPDATE: My prediction became true! OP in post 64, then post 66 with the follow up! Been here, seen it many times, will see it again I'm sure!

Sadly?? It's a good thing you're having fun with this so you can help people like me. Playing bass made you discover a talent and a passion. Nothing sad about that ;-)

Fender doesn't sell decals, so right away, you have to buy or make a fake decal- this is something Fender does not endorse. Fender licenses the headstock shape, but does not distribute decals. I believe if you need a new neck for your Fender, they will replace it after you send it in.
