My favorite fake off all time, the Fiero Mera. Of course, it only fooled Kelly Bundy, et al.
Complete with badges, name plates, etc.

Ferrari took Pontiac to court to keep them from rolling these off the assembly line and only 88 were produced.
A few show up from time to time on discorsoferrari.com and we have the same arguments.

Very nice paint job. And shouldn't have used the Fender sticker (a "Big Buttah" would have been so cool).

I have a Rio Grande pup on my '51 P build - love it.

You can buy a genuine Fender neck directly from them complete with logo and serial number for $200 now. Why would anyone wanting a standard type (maple or rw with dots) neck with a Fender logo not go that route now?

If it's Warmoth, then the neck pocket is branded. So, I doubt it could be mistaken for any other than what it is.

Question, my J-bass has a real CIJ fender jazz RI neck with serial number; the body is Warmoth; the pickups are SD. What is it, a fender with a replacement body or a Warmoth with a CIJ neck?

I always just call it my Warmoth J Bass, but I am curious to see if anyone thinks I have committed some transgression.

To me, if both body and neck aren't Fenders, it isn't a Fender. And if I were selling, I would disclose any mods.

That bass is pretty enough that the OP should brand it himself and be proud of it. It's beautiful and the decal detracts from its beauty IMO.

Has nothing to do with loyalty. Every day, there is an "is this a real Fender" thread, and people complain about being ripped off. The more phonies that are out there, the more it $%&&$S up the market. Even if he doesn't plan on selling it, he's gonna die, and someone will.

Besides, it would be much more cool to have an original logo on it. Other than trying to fool people, why have a Fender sticker on a non-Fender?

My bass says "Bulldog Bass Company", with a cool logo.
