That's nice. Does it sound like P bass?
I have to be honest, I'm not crazy about the color but then again, I am very conservative when it comes to basses. I prefer a nice Fender sunburst over a metallic color. Maybe it's the fact that I am 50 years old. I had forgotten about G & L until recently. They make some great basses. I played one at a local store and was very impressed. I'm sure you will be very happy with it.
I was so tempted to track one of these down and buy it. I have an SB-2 and love the tone.
I would love to know how you feel about the string spacing. I never use a pick. Ultimately I decided against buying an L-5000 sight unseen because they look like the strings are too tight for my preferences.
Love it, including the color. Just awesome in every way. I've thought about hunting for one of those myself. Due to a finger joint problem, I have to play with a pick, so I'd be down with that narrow string spacing. I really wish G&L would do a modern version based on the SB-1. Let's call it the SB-15. I'd probably sell my Fender P to get one.
i know marty bell used to paint the sparkle finishes on older G&L's this might be one of his. might be cool to email him a pic a see if he did it or not
Nice color. A White/Pearl guard would look sweet!
Here are my fraternal twins.Congrats.
i like it id play it the pickup design is weird. so is it wound like a normal p bass or is it wound differently?
Did these at one point come with a sickle shaped head stock? It looks so much better with the normal 4+1. Great score.
Mine have the pointy headstock, I like your version better.
The string spacing is 16mm. I normally prefer 18-19mm but I am adjusting to the tight spacing and i must say it does speed things up. The neck is very comfortable and the tomes the bass produces is definitely worth the time spent getting used to the spacing.
Ah the agony! I have a cheap LTD 5 string with narrow spacing and cannot stand it. I own a USA SB-2 and want a 5 string version so darn bad. I guess I'll just have to take a chance on a 5k and see if I like it.
