NBD - Schecter Omen Extreme-4

As I recall, I didn't have any issues with noise. The stock pickups just sounded a little muddy to me.
I was not impressed with the preamp. The lows weren't low enough and the highs weren't high enough.
OK fantastic thank you! I can tell from reading the thread that you are far more skilled than I am at these more technical mods. If I wanted to simply change the pick ups are other soap bars, straightforward drop ins?

Yes. The dimensions are common and there are many options to choose from. You can even cut the wires and use small wire nuts to attach the new pickups if you don't have a solder iron. But if you like them, I would solder the connections for the long term.

SSB-4s from Seymour Duncan would also work well.
