Thanks! I do too! This bass is so easy to play, I can't wait to play her at one of my gigs this weekend.
I have owned a few Gretsch products but never a bass. I currently own a Gretsch Corvette, perhaps it needs some 4 string company

Unfortunately it's back to GC with this beauty. I'm just a 5 string player. Can I play a 4 string? Of course I can, but 5 string is much easier for me in a live gigging situation. So back she goes.
Having never been a 5 string player I have no opinion on you returning this.
I just got the same bass and being a 4 string player whose main bass is a Musicmaster, this was a great addition for me.
I also got the red because I'm no fan of black or sunburst, too boring IMO. Even the red needed some brightness to it so I added some white. I'm a bright color guy as my avatar shows. I put whit speed knobs on and a white knob on the switch. This bass was used and whoever played it must have used a damn metal pick because the pickguard was really scratched, so I sanded it a little and painted it gloss white. Added the white pinstripe too. Short of painting the whole body I like this better.
Anyway, as they say here no photo=no bass so here's my G2220 in my music room.

Congrats with that white pickguard, as it really goes well with the walnut red!

Just bought one in the walnut as well, bass plays and sounds great. I'll be dressing mine up a bit too. Already started with some strings, control nob change and a switch plate.
these 3 vids all get the same range of sounds, I'm assuming it's a fair representation ...I like it!
