I guess I must be an annoying fanboi for those who care about such things. Oh well.

It is all that. Really beautifully made instrument. I'm still keeping my CIJ Geddy because I love it, but the U.S. version exceeds it in most every way.

Man I miss my CIJ Geddy and these US ones are really tempting...especially considering that used Geddys are now about $300+ more than when I bought mine.

I like it, the pearloid pickguard really works with the white pearl blocks. Congrats on finding a great bass for yourself!

It's Fender's own version of the Badass. If you watch the Youtube video on Geddy talking about his number one, he mentions much later in the video regarding the bridge.

Long story short: Fender ran out of BAIIs so they made their own version. Very similar looking with minor differences.

I managed to play one a few days ago. I was surprised at the reverse tuners; major turn-off for me. The neck was much thicker than the usual Geddy but it played very nicely and QC was spot on.

Pickups sounded a bit thin even with the amp's bass EQ turned up, but nonetheless, it has that Jazz Bass growl.

Congrats on a beautiful bass I like the little tweaks Fender has done to make the U.S version different if was an exact duplicate of the other versions people would still be complaining enjoy both of those beautiful basses.

I think that's a win for Fender. A slightly upgraded version than the MIJ or MIM versions that cost a few hundred bucks more than an MIA std Jazz. The blocks, binding, tuners, and bridge seem to add value over the standard Jazz. It looks great.
