NBD - U.S. Fender Geddy Lee

Sorry, don't have calipers that are long enough, but eyeballing with shorties puts it around 1" at the 12th.Congratulations DigitalMan!She is lovely! I always loved the white peal blocks on a maple neck! Another nice thing, they have included the Pat. Numbers in the decal, making it correct - I never got it why they didn't included in the CIJ/MIJ/MIM versions. And, contrary to many...I love the reverse tuners!
They are far more delicate-looking, and the whole reverse-thing is just a habbit.
What is more, can you measure the neck thikness at 1st and 12th frets?

I guess I must be an annoying fanboi for those who care about such things. Oh well.
It is all that. Really beautifully made instrument. I'm still keeping my CIJ Geddy because I love it, but the U.S. version exceeds it in most every way.
Okay - a non-teasing you question. Actually, two: The MIJ Geddy has a very thin neck and the older bridge p'up placement. How does the MIA compare in that area?

The U.S. neck is a little thicker, but not quite as thick as the American Standard. The CIJ neck jumps out at you as being super thin. The U.S. version doesn't jump out in the same way.
The bridge pickup is in the same 70's position.
I think i like the cij geddy better. So what about the neck profile i heard it was back to standard j specs not to how geddy shaved his down to...
The CIJ is similar in profile to his original neck from what I understand. The U.S. neck is more like what his replacement CS necks have been like. Both are equally comfortable to me.
I swapped out the pickups in my CIJ, but just recently reverted it back to the originals. I put my replacements aside for a super-secret project. Don't tell my wife please.
CS60s for me! The originals are in the box that the CS60s came in. They'll go into another Jazz I'll get in the future.

So interesting question. The pickups I had been using on my CIJ were Tom Brantley custom wound to Geddy Spec. I'd say the U.S. pickups are closer to the Tom Brantley pickups than the CIJ pickups, but all three are somewhat different. But a disclaimer that I haven't put Roto's on the U.S. yet.
Compared to the American Standard CS60's the U.S. GL pickups seem a little less scooped with stronger upper mid response. Not sure about normal 70's jazz.
