NBD - U.S. Fender Geddy Lee

Japan Geddy Body, Lollar Pickups, Hipshot tuners and a Allpart neck

My first (and only) Bass, have had mine for just over a month. Reverse tuners don't bother me, as I probably don't know any better ;) . I do like those subtle white fret markers - it sets it apart from the MIM/CIJ Geddys, and I don't look at the fretboard when I play, anyway (just those black dots on the neck binding).

Had thought about getting an MIM Geddy, but liked the improvements of the MIA, w/hsc, etc. If it's good enough for Geddy, it's good enough for me. It's everything I wanted, and then some, so I'm quite pleased.

Cheers,

Yep, early September. When mine arrived, a desiccant packet had slipped out from under the strings and marred the finish on both sides of the bridge. I took it to my local GC, and they agreed to exchange it, but when they said none were due in until early September, I decided that I could live with it. It buffed out to "barely noticeable". It won't stay new forever, anyway.

Yours will be worth the wait and be here before you know it.

Cheers,

Mine arrived at 9.2 lbs, now an even 9 lbs with the Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners. My MIJ was 10.5 lbs. Small sample size, but it works for me.
Nice :) my MIJ was outstanding but felt about ten pounds. The only thing I don't like about my now Geddy/frankenbass is the original US jazz pickups they use, little in the weak side. I plan to upgrade to Nordstrand single coils. That's a beautiful bass you have there and good weight. Bet she sounds so good, enjoy!

I

omg! World industries! Are they still around?

I need a correct 70s logo for that neck that photo reminds me, that one is just sitting on the clear. I digress. Idk if world industries are. I bought a used bass and that sticker was on the case and I peeled it off and put it on my Dog's house. I know they eventually sold the names and likeness to a Chinese company I believe as they had boards for sale at K-mart

Mine arrived today. Feels & sounds great so far, at least at home volumes. I'll give it a few laps at rehearsal on Monday.

Just to circle back, I've been using this bass exclusively in my latest band project since October. Totally happy with it, perfect for this band (kinda 90's rock, all original, female singer). Only mods were to replace the bowling ball pearl pickguard with a white one, put on Rotosound SM66 strings, and ease the truss rod a quarter turn.

Kudos to Dustin and the crew at Sweetwater, BTW. About the only place I'd buy an instrument sight unseen.
