NBD: Yamaha BB1025x - Caramel Brown

I have an obsession for wood. The musical kind.
Just wanted to do a short NBD - I've always wanted a BB1025x because I've heard so much positive things about them and how well built they are, etc. This is not one of the current generation BB's of course, this is from the previous generation that was discontinued a a few years ago to make room for today's current models.
I've only been occasionally looking for one of these over the last several years. Mostly because they have become fairly difficult to find, they seldom show up used. Recently, I've been trading in a lot of (non-Yamaha) basses in my collection - trying to take a more minimalistic approach.
So with a little extra bass-cash on hand from the sell-off, I Googled for a BB1025x (used), expecting to find little to nothing out there. I was shocked to find this beautiful BB1025x in Caramel Brown on Reverb! For a moment, I thought Google had probably given me a link to an old listing that sold long ago. But no, it was available. Apparently, it had been listed there for about 2 months before I saw it. Needless to say I purchased it.
The Seller listed it in Mint condition, but all I could say when it showed up was Holy Smokes! Wow!!! Not exaggerating when I say this thing is in PERFECT condition. Not one single scratch, scuff mark, ding, nothing. Absolutely pristine. Pretty amazing really since the serial number dates it to February, 2011 as the production date. I couldn't believe it still had the plastic on the pickguard after almost 12 yrs!!
Anyway, feeling super blessed to have stumbled into this one and wanted to share!
I had a current BP35, and while it was really nice, the previous models (like yours) looked a lot better, imo. You got the best color, too.

I really like current versions, but look more like Fenders than the 1025x and 2025x.

I think they're plain janes, but it's nice that the pickup shapes are now moddable.

100% agree - also, I find I prefer stainless steels on my BB's for the extra little brilliance.
I found myself preferring nickel wound on the current generation.

Kind of shocked me to see this particular color available.
IIRC even back when these were the current generation, this color was pretty elusive.
Most places seemed to offer the Black, White & Sunburst models. But I get that this color might not appeal to as many people as the more traditional offerings.
But to find one in brand new, flawless condition after this amount of time I would have thought to be nearly impossible.

I have a 415, cheapest of the BBs, and what you have is my absolute fantasy bass, and in the exact color, as well. 
That is nice addition to your Yamaha collection. We need a group pic . I always enjoy your Yamaha BB acquisitions and NBD threads.

I'll try to get an updated pic together pretty soon. There's been some reduction (even in the Yamaha collection). It had gotten to the point where I felt like it was getting to be more quantity vs quality, even within my own Yamaha collection. I do regret letting of the current gen BBP35, but if I'm being honest - I still prefer the overall look and tone of the previous gen a little more. I'm at 3 Yamaha's at the moment (all of them the previous gens), but will probably end up with another at some point if I know myself.
