NCAA basketball!

Brad....did you go to the SC game tonight? How disappointing! :(

Tell your brother they are going to let students register on Monday at noon to get tickets to the last two home games.

no, i didn't. i signed up for it, but i am quite sick--slept straight through it. i let a friend use my id to get in and watch it. when he returned, he told me we lost to south carolina again!

I'm quietly rooting for the hometown heroes, MU and my current Institution UW-Milwaukee. Milwaukee's looking decent for another Horizon league Championship, even without Pearl at the helm. Can't say too much about Marquette though.

i think marquette's a good team. i would be surprised if they can't play well enough to make it to the NCAA tournament.

thanks to a surprising illinois home loss to penn state and an iowa road loss to northwestern (we beat them by 11 in evanston on saturday), michigan state is back in the race for the big ten. i expect us to win the league, though we have to win at iowa and at indiana to do so. also, we get michigan, illinois, ohio state, and wisconsin at home before the end of the season, so it's not a certainty by any stretch. we have plenty of games we can lose between now and then.

well, i'm pissed!

my math class ended at 11:30, so i walk over to the school's computer center. by the time i find an empty computer, it's about 11:45. i waste fifteen minutes on talkbass, then i sign in on the school website so i can get tickets.

i put a checkmark next to the tennessee and georgia game.

i submit.

i get a strange screen that seems to mark partial success at saving my status, but also partial failure.

i try again. no checkmarks. so it didn't work the first time.

i submit again.

same screen.

i sign back in, for a third time. put in the checkmarks to reserve my seats for a THIRD time.

submit.

finally, something works.

called my brother, so he doesn't get snubbed this time. fortunately, he was out of class.

had him read off his username and password.

signed in, put in the checkmarks. got the failure screen.

had him read off his username and password again.

signed in, put in the checkmarks. failure screen again. but this time, the georgia game had already sold out.

had him read off his username and password.

signed in. both games had sold out.

both games sold out within THREE MINUTES of them becoming available.

so more than likely, i'll have to go to the final two regular seasons by myself again.

and what's more is that everything would have went off without a hitch if the damned website worked correctly.

florida lost to arkansas in overtime.

UGH! This one makes me s-i-c-k, worse than any other.

My sister-in-law married some grimy redneck from Arkansas, and they just so happened to be visiting us this morning. I guess he lived a few miles from the Arkansas campus, so he considers himself the Arkansas Athletics Authority. All I heard about this morning was how his Razorbacks put an Arkansas style whipping on my Gators, and how this could be some big turnaround for the program and bring them back to the glory days of the 90's with Nolan Richardson. Man, I wanted to PUKE!

stan heath is a good coach from the izzo tree. i'd like to see the razorbacks get good again. it would be good for the SEC, which is very down right now. UF is good, but it ain't the real deal. tennessee is a good team who can beat good talent. who else is there? LSU? USC?

but don't listen to what i have to say. not only did state lose to iowa on the road, we also lost to minnesota on the road. illinois should at least be properly motivated to beat iowa at home on saturday, after losing last night. if msu wins out, we'll share the title, if that's any consolation.
