NCAA basketball!

Way before I was a student and gave a rat's but about MSU in the slightest.

While I have my favorite teams to watch, I am a college basketball fan overall. I've been watching closely for 20 years. Being a Gator fan, I keep a close eye on the SEC all the time. I look back fondly on some of those Nolan Richardson Arkansas teams that would just run the other team into the ground with their speed and endurance.

Is he the coach who led them to two straight NC's in the early 90's?

Yeppers. Nolan was on fire back in those days. He played this suffocating defense that would put Rick Pitino to shame. Richardson's guys were intense from tip-off to the final buzzer. They would just run and run and run.

You know who Corliss Williamson is? He plays for the Sacramento Kings now after spending some time in Detroit. He played for Nolan.

YAY for Roy Williams and UNC! I have a deep dislike for Duke basketball. I've been a closet UNC fan since the James Worthy days.

The Gators will be tipping off against UK right about the time I am waking up Sunday morning.

It's not so much that I hate Duke, rather I just hate J.J. Redick. Wide open shooting/free throw shooting, yeah he is about as a good as they come. Versus tough defense, he hasn't really impressed me. He really is more dangerous as a "threat" in these situations because he gets double teamed and creates open lanes for Shelden Williams and the others. I don't think he'll live up to the hype surrounding him if he goes to the NBA, but I could be entirely wrong.

Adam Morrison, on the other hand, is golden. O'neal, Wade, Mourning, Williams, Haslem, Anderson, Walker, and Morrison? He could fit in great with the Heat. Wade, Anderson, and Morrison could be the triple threat could drive the lane, Williams and Morrison have virtually unlimited range, and Mourning and O'neal have great inside post presence. Alas, some suckball team will probably waste him.

I do hate the sportscastor's love for Duke and UCONN. Some of those guys act as in the Final Four/NCAA championship is in the bag for those two.

It just makes me root for the underdogs even more.

The 'Heels are my favorite team. :) Imagine: Beating Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Senior Night, it doesn't get much better than that!! :hyper:

It was a nailbiter when Duke closed the lead to 3 points (77-74), I really thought Redick was going to do the Christian Laetner comeback-thing.

I was thankful that FSU just beat Duke in their last game, (IMO nothing is better than a Duke loss!!!:hyper: Thanks, 'Noles!) but I was worried that the FSU loss coupled with Senior Night would have them so fired up, that they'd be unbeatable.

I'm a very proud Tarheels fan and I can't wait until Monday morning to "chat" with the Duke fans I work with.:D ;)

I'm not sure if Redick will be as dominant in the NBA; but you're right, only time will tell. IMO the NBA doesn't have as much emphasis on defense as it once did. This may help Redick, -I hope not. I can't stand him!!!:spit:

I'm glad someone else brought this up. I thought it was just me. Dick Vitale always wins the "Mute Button Award" at my house.:D

Well, no UF game for me after all. CBS has decided to air the Villanova/Syracuse game instead.

i think this is the first time we beat kentucky four times in a row ever!

and i'm very pleased with unc topping duke last night.

now since i'm going to indiana u for the summer, i'm obligated to report that they've won their last four games! :hyper: hopefully they'll get their act together with a new coach next year.

You are correct sir! I watched highlights, looked like a great game. Four in a row heading into the SEC tourney. Perhaps they are warming up just in time for the Big Dance!!

Lemme run over to the SEC website and see how MSU fared today...........

OOOHHHH!! A win over Alabama on Saturday to wrap up the regular season at a mighty 5-11. Someone forget to light the candle in Starkville!!

We just have too much scrutiny on our school to pay the big money and give the big benefits to convince the top level players to play here. :D

Yeah, yeah, yeah, OK. You guys have good players, just not good enough this year. Maybe some other season, or NOT!

I'll let you hang on to the bumper of the Gator bandwagon if you want. :D

Weak defense was our main weakness in the games I saw. We protected the paint, but allowed virtually unrestricted access to the three point shot.

I grew up watching FSU, I think I'd be disowned by my family if I jumped ship to the Gatards.
