NCAA Football - 2011

I'm out of town the last few days, and haven't checked the major sports news shops, but did anyone hear the latest Auburn bomb on how they've paid out over $80,000 to recruiting hostesses over the last two years? No one is saying it's necessarily illegal yet, but it smells really bad.

Yeah, it does suck. Especially for the players who were used to the Urban Meyer way. In a matter of days, it was a 180.

I appreciate coaches that don't pull punches when it comes to this kind of thing. I respect that in Muschamp. It's a true throwback to the old days when coaches really cared about more than just winning. Even Charlie Weis fits in that category. If I were a Gator fan, I'd really be happy about the direction of the program right now. If they can be successful on the field then Florida could really have something to be envious of again.

DE Chris Martin has left the Gators. This marks the fifth player who has left since Muschamp took over. There are a few different ways to read this, but I am not close enough to any of these guys to offer anything more than speculation.

Haha, Channing Crowder found the "backpedal" button: Link Removed

Fortunately, this was long enough ago that even if it was true, there is nothing the NCAA can do about it as far as punishment. I still wonder though if it did make someone curious about if it is still going on...if it happened that is. :D

I tend to believe his first comments were true simply because it's likely, and now he just doesn't want the heat and attention, or the scorn of Florida fans. I'm sure kids sell things they own for money every year at the large schools. It's just a shame we make such a big deal of it.
