NCAA Football - 2011

Every wonder what former Georgia coach Jim Donnan's been up to? Yeah, me neither. But now we know--swindling his coaching pals, or at the very least getting them into a Ponzi scheme.

LSU got slapped on the wrist today for something DJ McCarthy did two years ago. NCAA hits LSU with one year probation, recruiting restrictions - ESPN.

Geaux Tigers.....

I'm glad to see Demps play one more year. I just hope he can make it through the season without any career-ending injuries. It would be a shame for that to happen to him. I'm sure he's thinking that he'll never get the chance to play football like this again, so he's coming back for his team, his school and the experience of it all. That's a cool thing to do.

Demps met with Muschamp and committed to playing football this fall. I'm selfishly happy, he probably has a better career ahead of him in track and field.

Same here. But maybe playing football this fall won't dent his track career much.

Wow, what kind of cars and cash bonuses are they giving out in Tallahassee? Jimbo swoops in to snag another top 150 player, and the #1 QB in the USA (according to ESPN). Jameis Winston commits to Florida State - ESPN

You'd be surprised you can buy with one of those "no limit" credit cards, just ask Pete Carroll... :p

Seriously though, Fisher was the "de facto" head coach during Bowden's last few years, and it probably is easier to recruit for him now that he can make promises of stability in the program and coaching staff.

+1. There's a huge reason why Fisher was so sought after before going to FSU. I wanted him at Bama before Saban came along. It's not surprising to me that he's doing so well at FSU. That's a HUGE school, with probably the most beautiful campus in the state of Florida. It's on the Gulf Coast with beautiful beaches and emerald waters, and they're starving for a championship down there. FSU has way too much going for it to have struggled the way they have for a short while now.

Not to mention they have the number 1 frat house in the country there, and are largely considered to be the best party school, have solid academics, etc. Way to much going on there for Fisher to not be able to assemble a top 25 team and challenge for that ACC title.
