I did too - I thought there was no way Wake could handle A&M's RBs. I was way wrong.

I can't fathom why everyone is so high on the pair of them, and neither can any of my friends who pay way more attention to the NFL than I do. Rosen could maybe change to a receiver but Darnold just doesn't seem to have his head in the game.

The funny thing is that I would have never thought this of Darnold after the way he came in and led the team as a freshman last season. From what I hear, the scouts love the mechanics of both Rosen and Darnold. They, apparently, can "make all the throws."

I only got the chance to see bits and pieces of the Cotton Bowl, so for now I'm relying on post-game reports and the box score. I'm surprised USC had a fairly big advantage in time of possession. It's also obvious that USC didn't take very good care of the football, and Ohio State's defense apparently had its way with the Trojans' O-line, which seemed to be much improved at the latter part of the season. That, IMO, is USC's biggest concern going forward.

I think Clay Helton still has to settle in to his first role as head coach, which can't be easy since it's USC and not someplace like NW Montana A&M (I know it's not a real school, but you get the point:D).

P.S. For the sake of the Pac-12...GO WASHINGTON!! BEAT PENN STATE!!

Well, the trip to San Diego was fun but the game was disappointing.

It sure didn't help that the record-setting QB didn't play, and both the top wide receivers left the team before the bowl game. Top that with the best defensive player having to sit out the first half due to a targeting call in the Apple Cup, and it was a long night .

But the Cougs came in hordes, sold out the per-game event, and represented well. 47,000 people were at the game, which is a darn good turnout.

Barkley plays in his team's bowl game, then deflects questions after the game about his playing future so he can enjoy the victory and decide later.
This guy from Ohio State bails on his team before the game is even played.
Barkley is the #1 or #2 ranked player in the draft by many and this Ohio State guy isn't even in the top 10.
What gives here?
I don't like Ohio State, so my opinion will be slanted that way.

The Pac-12 officially sucks. The B1G is officially a beast this year. To heck with Darnold or Rosen. If I were the Browns, I would draft McSorley. Never mind Barkley, McSorley destroyed the Huskies. He couldn't miss. Barkley was icing on the cake. To their credit, the Huskies never gave up, even when it looked bad. But, Penn State was just a better team. Oh, well. The Pac-12 just lived down to the reputation they had this year of being a lesser league.

Losing is never easy to take, but I was impressed how Peterson kept his guys in that game.
Down 28-7, it would have been easy to start hanging your head, watching the clock for the game to end.
Nice job to the Husky players and coaches.

McSorley is an impressive kid. Quick and accurate, despite being considered "too short" by most folks. But as far as I know, he's planning on being back with Penn State next year.

Kudos to Washington for making a good game of what looked like it might be a rout early on. But all in all, I think Penn State played the better game. Good Bowl season for the Big 10 so far. 6-0 if I'm not mistaken.
