NCAA Football 2017 Bowling

OU will probably beat Georgia, but I don't think they'll beat Clemson. As an Oklahoma State fan, I wouldn't mind seeing Mayfield get his ass handed to him for once. He may be a good guy, but he's a douchebag athlete.
I don't think GA's D is gonna hand him his ass. But I do think GA's O is gonna wear down that Oklahoma D. We will see though.

I missed the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. Dammit. With a name like that, it's gotta be good. Apparently somebody played somebody else. One of 'em probably won.

I had no idea what Gasparilla was. I did some research and found out.
Gasparilla is a name that came from the Spanish legend Jose Gaspar. What made him legendary? He was a pirate. A real pirate.
The legend of how he died is awesome......Gaspar's ship was riddled by cannonballs and in danger of sinking. Rather than surrender, he supposedly wrapped an anchor chain around his waist and dramatically leapt from the bow, shouting "Gasparilla dies by his own hand, not the enemy's!"
Don't ruin this cool story by telling me how he may have never existed. Leave the facts out. Same with Ragnar the Viking. :D

Next year, I will watch the Gasparilla Bowl for sure. Maybe I'll even attend it.

Like NFL games on weird days, college bowl games on days other than 1/1 are weird to me.

The endless parade of toilet bowls is astonishing. And means I really don't pay attention.
I knew it had gotten out of control when rinky-dink bowl games were being played after January 1.

I mean...the GMAC Bowl - the GMAC Bowl - used to be played on 1/6. Really? Seriously?!

I picked against the Pac 12 tonight--not in an anti-conference ort of way, I'm just making picks game-by-game--and they both paid off. I didn't trust the Cougs, and felt like TCU's combo of Kenny Hill and defense would win out over Stanford (which they did, but just barely). I needed those two, the previous 10 picks or so were brutal.

The Pac-12 isn't doing a very good job of representing itself. 1-5 with three to go.
Arizona State is very likely going to make it 1-6; down 31-10. I expect USC to fall to OSU, but we shall see. I haven't even tried to pick Washington/Penn State yet.

As long as Washington beats Penn State, I will be happy enough. And as a person who grew up near Columbus, I have to root for Ohio State over USC, just on general principles. So 2-7 is OK with me, so long as one of the two is Washington.

Aggies aggied, so I can't say I'm too disappointed. Hopefully with Sumlin out we can actually foster and grow talent rather than just bring it in.

USC-OSU is going about how I expected so far. Still three quarters to go, but I have a theory that Darnold is blowing this game to hurt his draft stock and avoid being picked up by the Browns.

He’s going to not be picked by more teams than just the Browns if he keeps this up.

I picked A&M because Wake Forest winning a bowl game made no sense to me. And yet...
