NCAA Football 2022

It's not a good year on the football field in Hanover, New Hampshire.

-Mike
No, it isn't. But Yale just demolished Brown. Too bad Yale lost to Penn. They have to knock off Princeton somehow. Princeton is required to be lousy. That is iron clad tradition. They must fall apart.

I didn't realize that the Vols were ranked first. Now Georgia will be. Oh, well. I am tired of Georgia, Alabama, and Clemson.

Well, Bama and Clemson are out of the playoffs now, in all likelihood. The ACC just ain't very good this year.

I knew Clemson wasn't elite. USC's not elite, either, or at least they won't be until the defense catches up to the offense. USC-UCLA will probably be a shootout. And I'm glad we get ND in the Coliseum this year.

Ohio State was lackluster vs. Northwestern, and Stroud didn't help his Heisman chances. But Michigan-Ohio State is at the 'Shoe this year.

Oregon's uniforms tonight.

And Oregon did lose. Washington beat them this evening. In Oregon. The world is in the proper order again. The Ducks need to be back to being the Rutgers of the Pac 12.

Yep, Coach Lanning made a few pretty bad choices that didn't pan out. No biggie, the Huskies will get eaten by at least one more PAC team this year too. It's what the PAC does.

Usually I'm pretty indifferent to Team Nike's uniforms but the ones the last two weeks have been exceptionally bogus.

Well done, Huskies! And Oregon-Oregon State is in Corvallis this year. I think the Beavers can take 'em.

At this point, miracles would have to happen for a Pac-12 team to end up in the 4-team playoff. But I do believe the Pac-12 is stronger overall this year than it's been in a while. I think, top to bottom, the Pac can match the Big Ten this season.

The Beavers have a lot of injury issues by now, but I expect a close game for sure. Utah owned Oregon last year though, so first things first!

Decent win by my Gators. South Carolina had a better record, but was missing its starting RB. Next up is Vandy, which just won its first SEC game in 3 years. Then they finish vs. FSU, which unfortunately should be more competitive.

Not much surprised me other than Vandy beating Kentucky. Alleged offensive genius Mike Leach secured his third nonwinning SEC record since taking over Mississippi State 3 years ago. And I'll be shocked if they beat Ole Miss in their final game. And Leach's offensive is in the middle of the SEC in points scored this year. By the way, he got his first TD versus Bama recently as time expired--in three games! And Bama's defense hasn't even been that great lately.

Oh yeah--ain't no hype like Texas hype. ESPN College Gameday came to town for the second time this year. And despite three losses, the Horns were favored by 8 over TCU (oops).

Kudos to TCU, though. I hope they win out, it would be fun to see them in the CFP for the first time.

Although my wife graduated from Texas Tech, she attended TCU for two years. I thoroughly enjoy either of her teams beating UT. If they manage to make the CFP, I'll be rooting for them to beat OSU or UM.

There was no college football last weekend. I don't know what you're talking about.

.....

Okay, all joking aside, this is an A&M squad that was over-ranked (again) and overhyped by the recruiting class. Am I surprised this batch of freshmen weren't immediately plug and play and breaking down barns from day one? Absolutely not, and anyone who thought we'd compete for the SEC west was kidding themselves and drunk on Aggie koolaid (again). Now, am I surprised that we've only won 3 games? THAT is a shocker. I at least expected us to go 6-6 and make it to the "Mattress Mack who-gives-a-crap Bowl, presented by Topo Chico," so the fact that we couldn't beat some of the usual suspects in conference play was shocking. I am not looking forward to Oklahoma and Texas coming in next year, especially since the latter since I live in Austin now.

At least my wife's Noles won....
