.......this will be the biggest, fastest, hardest-hitting defense Tebow & Co. have seen this season by far, and the running game of the Tiger offense is pretty brutal, the Gators will need to commit at least 8-9 to the box to stop Charles Scott and the very solid O-line for LSU.

Man, that was a satisfying win! Definitely the Gators' best game since the championship stomping.Mike, you definitely called the factors right--the speed killed! Plus, Demps and Rainey both showed nice strength when running up the middle, we didn't even miss Moody. And how about the previously suspect offensive line, they played their hearts out tonight. Brandon Spikes is looking like a monster, his size/speed/agility are starting to remind me of *genuflect* Jevon Kearse! Then there's that fella named Tebow.Or not. It turned out just as I predicted. The Gator speed ran down that sorry display of defense from LSU. You guys don't have a great defense, they don't go nine deep anywhere on the field, and your running game is as bad as my one legged grandpa's. Who is Charles Scott?
FLORIDA - 51
LSU - 21
So now I'll sit back and wait for the Spin Doctor to show up with his laundry list of excuses why his mighty Tigers lost.

It's either a terrible interpretation by the refs or a badly written rule. Thankfully, I was pretty well over that by the time Spikes reached the end zone. That said, tough game for Florida this week. They lost to a very weak Old Miss, and didn't really impress on their win in Arkansas. They'd better show up a lot better than those two games, or it will be a very ugly day in The Swamp, this will be the biggest, fastest, hardest-hitting defense Tebow & Co. have seen this season by far, and the running game of the Tiger offense is pretty brutal, the Gators will need to commit at least 8-9 to the box to stop Charles Scott and the very solid O-line for LSU. Of course, that means that the corners will be on an island most of the time, and better be on their A+++ game...
I'm thinking LSU is up for this one, and that's not going to bode well for UF:
LSU 27
UF 13
I'd say that the 9 "we can start on any defense in the SEC, and most of us in the NFL" defensive linemen from LSU are all the kryptonite needed. Nothing like fresh defensive linemen in the 4th quarter to take the wind out of an offense's sails...
![]()
That's all well and good, but how about the condition of your offensive line by that time???
If they can't block, doesn't matter how fresh the RB's and WR's are....
Actually, the defenses the Gators have faced that I've found most impressive have been Ole Miss and Miami. Sorry, Gard!Mike -
Absolutely, we need to watch it together one year!
As for the DL affecting the WR's, simple. If Tebow is either a) lying on his back, or b) running for his life because they've totally blown up the pass blocking, the WR's can be running free down the field and it won't matter much.
As for the Gator's offensive firepower...explain losing to Old Miss?Yeah, that was a defensive powerhouse, to be sure, mmhmm, that's why they didn't let UF score at will, right...sure.
Like I said, if the Gators don't bring their A+++ game, it ain't gonna be pretty.
As for the LSU offense, you mean the #1 offense in the SEC, right? Yeah, check it out, you must not be paying close attention, but dats de fax, jack.

So far, I think you're spot on...
Personally, I would move USC, Florida and OK State past BYU and Texas Tech--the latter two just haven't played anybody yet, IMO. Otherwise, I'd leave it as is.Here's my Top 10 heading into Week 8:
1. Alabama
2. Texas
3. Penn State
4. Texas Tech
5. BYU
6. USC
7. Florida
8. Oklahoma State
9. Oklahoma
10. Ohio State
I don't know about you, but we were just incensed by that remarkably stupid call on the kickoff near the end of the first that set up LSU's first score. Really, Holliday catches it and steps out of bounds, but Florida is penalized?

...
I've seen BYU play twice this season and they're pretty good - swarming D and a great tight end. Plus, even though it was UCLA, a 59-0 victory is impressive. Their rivalry game against Utah will be a fun one this year.
...
Yes, that kickoff was bizarre. Were you watching the game somewhere where you could hear the commentators? While the Gator fans were booing, Danielson says something along the lines of..."you hear those 90,000 fans booing? That's 90,000 people who don't get the rule". He says this only moments after admitting HE didn't understand the rule. So he suddenly became an expert on it and starts talking crap about the Gator fans booing? What a tool.
This line of Gard BS especially makes me laugh......"Nothing like fresh defensive linemen in the 4th quarter to take the wind out of an offense's sails..."
