NCAA Week 7

Utah is just killing me this year. If we didn't have such a great defense, we might be 5-2. Brian Johnson is a liability at QB, and Offensive Coordinator Andy Ludwig is incompetent. I think we lose against New Mexico, taking most of the luster from the BYU rivalry game.

You're undefeated and the Utes are killing you? Wow, you're tough to please! :D I think BYU-Utah will be an undefeated showdown for a BCS bowl, personally.

BTW, your emoto-meter is brilliant!

You know... I really hope it is (not just for Utah, but for the MWC), but I've seen too much erratic play from our offense. We got way lucky against Oregon St.

I update the Emot-o-Meter almost daily! I am thinking of putting the :hyper: on the rightmost side if Utah actually makes it to another BCS bowl. :)

Their line got rocked all night, and the loss of Bo Pellini is huge - LSU as a unit couldn't tackle.

I'll wait now for the predictable "yeah, but....."

What made it even better was that we ran it right down their throats all night with speedy little RB's, and a couple were freshman! We didn't grind out that win. We sprinted from start to finish, and LSU had NO IDEA what to do but watch us run.

You may also want to prepare yourself for when the Spin Doctor mentions that his top dawg DL with the big mouth was out with a so-called injury. Surely he would have accounted for 35 points had he been playing.

Yes, that kickoff was bizarre. Were you watching the game somewhere where you could hear the commentators? While the Gator fans were booing, Danielson says something along the lines of..."you hear those 90,000 fans booing? That's 90,000 people who don't get the rule". He says this only moments after admitting HE didn't understand the rule. So he suddenly became an expert on it and starts talking crap about the Gator fans booing? What a tool.
Oh, I heard it alright! I haaaaate Danielson--he's always trying to make games seem closer than they seem, too. If a team is down 21 but gets 2 or 3 first downs, he starts saying "Uh oh" and talks about a momentum shift.
Well...I waited up as long as I could for Gard tonight. He must be hiding somewhere. The "mighty" LSU defense.....the "brutal" running game....what a load of horse puckey! I'm with you on the Ole Miss and Miami defense being better than those jokers in yellow and purple.

This line of Gard BS especially makes me laugh......"Nothing like fresh defensive linemen in the 4th quarter to take the wind out of an offense's sails..." :hmm::D:D:D:D

-Mike
I'll admit, I thought this was gonna be a close game, but as usual, Gard went waaaay overboard.

I just ordered this shirt from GatorZone.com:

Bwahaha!:D

I feel you, Greg, but the latter two are undefeated and were ranked in the Top 10 this week, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and didn't penalize them for not losing.

I've seen BYU play twice this season and they're pretty good - swarming D and a great tight end. Plus, even though it was UCLA, a 59-0 victory is impressive. Their rivalry game against Utah will be a fun one this year.

I haven't seen Texas Tech play, but just getting by Nebraska in OT means they'll probably get blown up by the first quality opponent they face. Or, they may be like OSU and surprise a top-tier Big 12 program. That league is chock full of game-breaking quarterbacks, so anything could happen.

That's why they play the games, and that's why we watch 'em! On to Week 8!
I understand what you're saying, but I would like to see the teams that pulled off impressive wins today get strongly rewarded for them. But as you said, the games ahead will settle a lot of this.

Well said. ;)

In other, somewhat off topic news... The WR from my high school is currently the #30 recruit in the nation, and Urban wants him to replace Percy Harvin. We also have 2 other recruits in the top 150 who also have offers from UF. If any or all of them decided to commit, it would be sweet.

However, Les Miles from LSU showed up at my HS football game on Friday night in a helicopter to check them out. This is all pretty exciting. We've had one player from our HS go pro (Jeff Faine of the Saints, and now Bucs) and two guys in college (one guy benchwarming at Wake Forest, and one guy starting D-line for FSU), so it will be exciting to have kids in some actual good programs next year!

Which HS did you go to?

Oh and re: Harvin, not that it mattered by the end of the game, but NICE push-off on the defender to score the first TD...

Texas number one! Please! They should go to 2, not 1. No team has more impressive numbers than Bama. The polsters are obviously divided on this. But it really doesn't matter. We just have to continue winning.

Congrats to the Gators and the Hogs! Wonderful day!

Oh, puh-lease. Even Danielson didn't say it should have been a flag, and do you seriously think Harvin needs a push to beat someone to the endzone? Meanwhile, nice pulling on Harvin's shoulder at the goal line on 3rd down, when we ended up having to settle for a FG. And I'm pretty sure Gators CB Joe Haden got called for breathing on the receiver on that uncatchable ball in the 3rd.

Not that any of that mattered.;)

Wow, the Gators climb to #5. That is really generous. I was expecting #7 or #8. LSU going all the way to #13? That seems like it was too far of a drop. I figured them to drop to #10 or #11.

I'm surprised at Florida moving that far up, but they dominated on a national stage, so maybe I shouldn't be.

I'm not so surprised at LSU's drop 10 #13. Realistically, who else have they played? A win over Georgia or Bama will move them back into the mix.
