Did anyone compare the Subway 212 to either an Aguilar db212 (or 2x db112) or a Bergantino HDN212, by any chance?

NCD: Mesa Subway 212!

I read a thread somewhere on here about that..the bergantinos are awesome in the mids but the mesa subway is better in the lows, not sure about the aguilar but I'm pretty sure it's 8 ohm and some of the Bergantions are 4 ohm and the mesa sub is 4 ohm
That may be the opposite for the Mesa 212?...I havent tried a Berg specifically but if its a FRFR(full range, flat response) kind of box, the Mesa 212 should have stronger mids by comparison. I find that i don't like FRFR cabs, but prefer a bit of color or tuning specifical for electric bass applications.
I haven't read too many bad reviews for the mesa boogie subway 212...most are good, I heard good reviews on the Berg but better ones on the mesa boogie subway 212... as for mids and lows it's all in the head and bass and even the way you strike the strings in preference as to what sounds you're looking for,what kind of head you use and what kind of bass you have, those are all factors that can be a nightmare searching for sometimes...took me years to find the bass,cab and head and even pedals to get the sound I heard in my head to what a good sounding bass system was. for me it's a rickenbacker 4003,ampeg heritage 410 and both GK 800RB and Peavey mark IV heads and a darkglass B7k...prefect ,crunchy,punchy and bass boomy perfect mids, all crisp and clear yet I still want a mesa boogie subway 212 because of the high reviews they get

Yep...I went on a similar journey over the years. After cycling through a Fender Rumble v3 rig, to GK MB212ii, than finally to Mesa/D800+212. I sold the Rumbles and keep the GK for smaller shows. The Mesa is leaps and bounds the best rig Ive owned or played through. I went back and forth between the 212 and the 215....i didnt really need x2 15's volume or size wise, but that cab comes with wheels and a handle, i ended up with a 212. The 212 is not that heavy, maybe just shy of 50lbs, just a bit awkward to carry sometimes. Ill most likely get a 115 for smaller gigs vs another combo...i dying to try the 15's, they also get rave reviews.
Question for agedhorse....I havent had a 15 cab in years, how well does the 115 disperse sound? They are fairly low profile cab's, and what i mean is that if its on the floor, and Im 4-6 feet if front of it, will i be able to hear it well? Or would i need to hike it up off the floor a bit? It depends. I generally recommend tilting it back by raising the front a couple of inches, this usually helps enough on its own if it's necessary at all. The more "obvious" solution would be to add a second cabinet
I have a GK MB212-ii combo...which i believe is the same cabinet....i just cant compare the D800 head through it. I can say the Mesa seems a lot more sturdy construction wise, overall bigger and much tighter sounding.

He's asking about a Genz Benz cabinet not GK.
The Subway cabinet is a more robust also more expensive.
Been trying to get the wife's permission to get the Mesa 2x15 but for now this will do.
Sorry....GB Neo was pretty close to GK Neo....thats what happens when you multitask

I have a subway 112 and plan on getting another one. I have owned 2x12 cabs in the past but find 2 112 cabs easier to move. I’m wondering does the subway 212 sound any different then two 112 subway cabs?
