NCD - SVT212AV finally here (now with working amp)

How does it sound compared to an 8x10? I was looking at 2 2x12 avs but then i got the 8x10 instead. Im pretty happy with the 8x10.

The amp is with an Ampeg authorised repairer. He says if I'm lucky it will be $US150ish ... if I'm not and the whole main board need replacing, the cost will be nearly the same as a new amp.

For reference, in Australia the PF500 RRP = $US910 and standard current 'discounted' price = $US740.

I own two SVT212AV cabinets and a SVT810E, I power either the 212s or the 810 with a SVT Classic. If you roll the tweeter off, and I do, one 212AV sounds pretty much like my 810E, but not as loud. when I run the Classic through both SVT212AVs with the tweeters off it sounds a LOT like the 810E. I really like the sound of either setup.

Man, that's a bad run of luck. The good news is that once it is sorted, it will be a great sounding combination. Good luck!

The 212AV is one special cab. Very punchy and articulate with plenty enough low end for my needs. I have mine paired with the V4B Reissue and it's the best sounding rig I've ever owned or played through. The only way to improve this rig will be when I someday add a 2nd 212AV cab. I absolutely love it!!!

It truly is a special cab. I ordered a pair of black grills for mine so that they would match my classic.

When I first got mine I was powering it with a SVT 3 Pro.
