Thanks JD, that dremel stuff just takes a steady hand (freehand) and a nice sharp downward cutting bit, or at least I know the bit is sharp

Trimmed the headstock more, indecision on whether to do the angled tuners or straight...
What it looks like with the headstock shape as a whole
Had to trim the fretboard and also cut a small veneer, for the trussrod channel, for added absorption of the rod against the wood.
Cut the end of the fretboard, right after the trussrod end and will use the remainder on the end, for a magnetic trussrod cover. Then Glued and clamped...
Cut another piece of cocobolo, for the blocks...... then also threw in the idea of using some cut off pieces of the neck block, for the 12th and 24th frets..

I cant decide about the inlays though. I like them both!

On the tuners, I like the angled better, but the straight is nice also.
The headstock shape is really nice. It looks like you have a touch of shape fixing to do though on the bass side, looks like there's a kink between the B and E tuners.
I like the neck laminate inserts for the 12th and 24th fret markers! If the laminates at the heel and headstock remain visible, it can look like there are windows cut through the fretboard.
What's the length on that truss rod?

Yeah, everything needs to be touched up but im pretty sure he said that was one of the rougher cuts. The neck will remain how it is now since i decided not to put anything over it but i havnt decided what i to do with the heel because of the truss rod/cover.

Drew out the lines for block inlays, so I can get the measurements. These blocks will grow wider, as the fretboard get wider (1/4" off the edges, all the way down). It was just hard to get the angle to show the pencil lines.
Rough cut the blocks.... I'll come back later and sand the edges to the right size. The cocobolo looks like a little purpleish, but will turn more brown (In the pic, I had just sanded them).

Worked on getting the inlays down to the right size, for each respective fret.
First off, need to get them square, I do this by sanding 2 straight edges (1 top, 1 side), then measure out from there. I check my work with a square.

So true, i look forward to seeing the updates. Ill be thrilled when its done and im sure ill annoy the heck out of the people in the apartment im moving into. lol
