Yeah clean is not the best description to this I'm just trying to find a distortion that doesn't sound so metal.

Zvex Mastotron. The Joyo copy of the Suhr Riot is also a good option.

In case anyone is still checking this thread out and is trying to work on their fake guitar tone, check out this live album. The rhythm guitar is all me on bass. There is no overdubs or anything, whole thing is live raw tracks taken from the sound board at the bar. Pardon the awful vocals, and yes I'm shamelessly plugging my band hahaha

Now for the RB content, Mike Kerr is my main inspiration in picking up the bass in the first place, so I started putting together a board before I even got a bass. Finishing off my guitar chains is still the hardest part for me. Recently, I've been able to send my guitar chain through my VoiceLive 3, which is working okay for things like Reverb/Delay/etc (essentially to duplicate Mike's chain that ends with the Strymon Flint pedal)--and I think will work even better once I get up to speed with that monstrously complex beast. But I just got a POG2 to go with my PitchFork, so now I can play around with a multiple guitar chains too! And it has brought home full force my biggest hole: a mighty fuzz. I have been oh so close to just getting the Mastotron, but it seems like the Fat Fuzz Factory is just as massive, but it has other nifty stuff, like a gate. So I keep waffling on what pedal I should get. I tried throwing my Bass Big Muff in there, and it worked kind of, but I like that bad boy in my bass chain, it gives just the right buzziness for a couple songs I like playing. So a dedicated guitar fuzz is high on the list.

Nice dude! I've messed with a bit of fuzz. Swollen Pickle, Big Muff, tech21 fuzz, and some EQD ones. Out of all of em, and what you can hear most of in those recordings, is the EQD Acapulco. That thing rips and I don't have to tweak any knobs to get it to kick ass. Surprisingly, I just run bass>wah>Zoom MS60b>ABY>SubnUp>Acapulco. Having the effects first surprised me, but made it easy. I'm adding more flavors of dirt, but so far it's been working well.

Oh and I finally started a side project of drums, bass, vocals...can't wait to see where it goes.
