Need help from effects gurus! Royal Blood inspired content.

Ha, didn't know this thread was still alive! Ended up getting a MicroPOG which I run out into my Roland MicroCube for guitar sounds at home. Haven't used it in a gigging situation since I don't play in a band like that, but I have been considering trying my GT2 into my powered Yamaha box just to practice a bit louder. Will report back with how it works. Found I actually love the POG for some octave up before my fuzz pedal in my doom band too, brings in a lot more fullness and clarity to the bass sound (we're a three piece).

Mine is nowhere close as sophisticated:

But the Flanger/Chorus is not necessary, nor is the High-pass filter. Still I think that at under €1000/US$1000 when purchased new (including the Pedaltrain, the Carl Martin Pro mounted underneath and all the cables) it's not too expensive. And it can reproduce Kerr's sound quite well...for around half the price tag.

Lol, not at all. I just "quoted" new prices, including the board and the Power supply. And if I could get a decent sound for half the cost of Kerr's board, I'm sure more experienced players could do it with even less.

So is that your board, or just ideas? Does it produce something similar to a Royal Blood-esque effect?

just the cheapest I could find lol. I would get a pedal board, but I think I'm GASing for a Sire v7 more.....

Made one change to my setup:

Changed the Blackstar Core40 ID:Core guitar combo to a Blackstar HT Club 40 combo. I didn't realize how frickin' big a 112 guitar combo would be! It's a tube amp, so it's heavier than any single part of my bass rig, but it sounds glorious! Still, I gotta haul this thing now...good grief.

Ok just to wade in here is my board......

Starts at tuner, along bottom row then L>R finishing with compressor.
The second output is free on POG.

I have the POG set to high octave and octabsss to low, and I have snuck the hot hand in the mix mainly for the manta bass filter.

Changed a little from this, the screamin Blues is out, and I have a dark glass B7K in, it really fattens the sound, although the digitech screamin Blues did an OK job (it was a present)

Even without a guitar amp I can get a good guitar like sound with this, only thing I would add would be some form of kill switch coming out of POG to guitar amp if I wanted a full on sound.

With the source audio multi wave you can dial in some octave sounds there with distortion so it's good to consider.

What I would like is to get either tech 21 or Soleman midi then I could dial in all different SA sounds and have them ready to go.

And by the way I have a starcaster which really helps to achieve the sound and cannot wait for my G&L ASAT to arrive to play with that on this!

This set up works flexibly for a dub step type sound and also good punchy rock and blues

Hey guys need some help here. First of all I use a Modern Player Jazz, the one with the humbuckers. I run it through a ZOOM B3 with BDDI patch and in order to get the guitar sound I have to use the bridge pickup. Problem is that it sounds like complete crap, thin and weak. Is there a way to counter that(note that the original bridge pickup died on me so I had to replace it with the one they put on the American Deluxe P-Bass).

Also, what distortion pedal should I use for the guitar sound? And should I get another Pitchfork for the powerchord sound?

@ferdinandstrat what octaver do you have?
For the octave up I play with the POG and dial in some more bass to thicken the sound, or kick in the octabass for sub fullness.
The b7k works well for fullness of distortion, or grizzly bear is a good pedal.
My guitarist has a soul food which is nice and I am interested as to how it sounds on bass, but I think it is just a 'warm' sounding boost pedal

I was referring to the bass sounding like crap, not the guitar.

I realised that buddy, all the above was about getting your bass to sound full when 'trying' to have a guitar type sound.

The last bit about the soul food pedal was to see if anyone had used it as there is a bass version.
It pretty much makes your guitar sound a bit more like it!

Oh, sorry.

I saw a guy on Youtube who also used a Jazz, but a standard one. He too only used the bridge pickup but his tone was more to my likes. My tone sounds almost like Jaco going through a Bass Driver, his tone sounded more like...Geddy, which is the tone I want.

OK,

Depends what EQ ability you have on your pedals, taking POG as an example you have 3 versions, so you could really tailor your sound that way.

If you want more octave down stuff look at dusty hill rig rundown by premier guitar.
Really simple, octave, simple amp to get the grit, Seymour Duncan doing its job but he has a thumpinator to carve off the bottom end.

Do you actually want a guitar sound or just a fuller sound?

I want a fuller bass sound out of the bridge pickup. Justin Chancellor or Geddy esque.

As for the guitar sound, that is a completely different FX chain.
