Need lighter cabs

Not 15", but I was pretty impressed by the DNA 12" cabs. They weigh in at 34# and I think they sound as good as or better than my old Eden 2x10s (which have gotten a bit heavy for me, so I know where you're coming from).
If you're into a warmer, more "vintage" sound, the Aguilar SL112 sounds very nice and weighs in at a feathery 26#.

Are mesa actually that light now? All my experience has been with the Powerhouse series.
I still have the 115, and I always said Mesa is either horrible or amazing for stairs. Horrible for going up, but then to go down you just drop it out of a second story window* and it's completely fine.

Yes Its 38 lbs which I consider fairly light, and it's the best sounding cab I've ever heard. Barefaced are great but the flat response of the twelves isn't everyone's cup of tea necessary.
Another point to consider is that it's not just the weight, it's the carry. I had a couple of the subway 12's and those flip handles did a number on my wrist. Subway cabs and Barefaced are brought up in almost every cab question thread, and I just realized the reason I no longer own either anymore is because of either the flip handle or the little strap that Barefaced puts on theirs. Definitely a first world issue, I admit.
By comparison, my Glockenklang cabinet weighs 41 pounds and it's a helluva lot easier to move around for me.

Obviously much love for Mesa, though the spec sheet says the Mesa 115 comes in above your target by 3lbs. Given the level of love here on TB, maybe the 3lbs is worth it, yeah? The GK Neo IV 115 is also 38 lbs.
If 38 is too much:
Really light on the cheap? RevSound, 25 lbs. $649. Yes, you read that right, 25lbs.
Really light on the pricey? GRBass carbon, 28lbs. Can't remember what these list for and GRBass won't tell you on their Web site, gotta find a dealer. Probably at least a grand.
Target weight on the very cheap? GK CX115, 35lbs, $450
Target weight on the pricey? Aguilar SL115, 34lbs, $1060

Thank you everyone for the info it's really helpful. Some of these lesser known boutique brands are exactly what I was looking for.
I'm not sold on the idea that a 12 will be as loud as a 15. Physics is physics. Not saying I don't believe you but I guess I'd have to see for myself and demo somthing before I buy. I will be using for gigs and not just rehearsal and eventually might add a 210 or 112 to a 115.
Would like to stay around $600-700 but was looking at the Aguilar SL115 which is going for $1050 new. I also have no problem getting used or a demo. Thanks again everyone!

I'll also add that 38 lbs might work too so if the mesa sounds as good as everyone says I will def consider it. I don't want to sacrifice sound for light weight.
I'm dealing with ~55 lbs now ea on an old Avatar 115 and an old SWR Goliath Jr. (Also have a big Ben 18 but haven't used it in years) so 38 lbs would be a nice change.

I have the Mesa Subway 1x15 (two actually) and it sounds great and is easy to transport in terms of size and weight.
I also have a GR Bass Aerotech 212 Slim cabinet which is very light and has a very clear sound. I use it mostly with a tiny but powerful Quilter BB-800 amp. I can hand carry everything in one trip, and the handle of the 212 Slim is placed just right so it doesn't tweak my wrist when I carry it.

Look up Boom Bass Cabinets. I think Sweetwater carries them. So does GC. Or you can buy direct. You can customize the color Tolex if you want.
My 2x12 with 300W adjustable tweeter is under 38 lbs. It has a retractable handle and rolls like a suitcase with 2 wheels in the back. It is a fantastic cab and I would absolutely do it again.

It depends very much on the 12 and 15 being discussed. There are some 12" drivers that are MUCH more sensitive than SOME 15" drivers and SOME 15" drivers that are much louder than SOME 12" drivers.
Of the lightweight cabs I've played, Bergantino and Genzler really stand out. That said, I already had a pair of GK Neo 112s which I like pretty well when I played those, and so far it hasn't been worth it to me to upgrade. Sound good, are pretty light, and travel easy.
agedhorse is spot on that speaker size doesn't tell you much about what sound you get. I own Older 410s and 115s, as well as the GK 112s. One 112 is louder and goes deeper than the 115 I have. 2 of them are louder than the 410, even though they are about 25% less area. That's not to say that it's true for all 12s vs 10s and 15s, but efficiency, speaker voicing, and cab design all matter and there is a lot of overlap

Bag End 15's are the greatest sounding cabs on planet earth. And they are compact and under 45 lbs. That's in the neighborhood, but they were the old school's version of "lightweight" back in the day, and nothing beats a stack of two of them. I'm 44 and find them very manageable -- and they are basically an 18" cube
