Never Ordering a Schroeder Cab Again

Ya. Those guys are an absolutely fantastic live band. No doubt, about that! As for being a supporting member, I've never really spent much time on Talk Bass, so, I'll have to catch up with y'all.
it was right after tom had rejoined, and they had 'started over' as it were. they even played 'speak now...' i think i was the only one there that recognized it. awesome!
If Schroeder can make a box that will connect two 4 ohm cabinets for a combined impedance of 4 ohms, he can stop building cabinets and get rich making these boxes.
Well, technically, Jorg does claim to have the solution. He did eventually send me a box, which I'll try again to get to work. As for how the box functions and how it enables two, four ohm cabs to be run simultaneously, I have no idea? My beef is with the fact that I haven't been able to get it up and running, and Jorg just doesn't seem to be interested in assuring that all is well. I mean, he got his $ for two cabs, promptly... I suppose that's all that matters? Nevermind that the customer can't USE the product!

The box will either produce a 2 ohm output or an 8 ohm output. It will not be 4 ohms.

His engineer? He doesn’t have any engineers. He has a few guys that he pays as little as possible to build non-engineered cabs IMO - speakers in a box - that’s it. He’s a shady character too - I know the gentleman that used to build Jorge’s cabs back when he first started out - Jorge decided not to pay a bill for $5K AND persuaded two of the employees of this company to come work for him. Nice guy. There are stories I’ve heard about non-square cabs that teeter totter on a flat surface. I’m with the OP - not a fan & never even considered Schroeder cabs after finding out about JS. There are many other options out there! Sell that crap & be done with it.

That’s the point, it couldn’t be done with a simple box that they are throwing in for free.
I don’t think so. One issue with the box is the type of speakon connectors. The concern is what the box does. It sounds like it is a breakout box that will allow the cabs to be connected either serially or in parallel. Not what is needed in this case.
It looks like it says "MIN 4 Ohms" on the back right of the amp.
As was previously stated, pickup or make a parallel to serial box and run at 8 ohms.
With your 1k watts, it'll be fine!

No, the losses would be pretty staggering that way.
It'd heat up enough to keep the coffee warm and the sound level wouldn't bother the neighbors. I'm unaware of a low cost technology that could do what's wanted here. Whatever is in that box, it's not likely to connect two 4-ohm cabs and give you 4 ohms at the amp output. Sure, you could use a big matching transformer but a) it's costly, b) it's heavy, c) it'll mess with your sound and d) it's a kludge.
I'm not entirely clear here what the OP was trying to accomplish but it sounds out of the normal protocol for cabinets. Why not just order standard 8 ohm cabs so 2 x cabs would equal 4 ohms. I don't know how many amps besides Mesa that do 2 ohms but I wouldn't build a system around a non-standard configuration. Buy two 8 ohm cabinets. Pull out of box. Hook up both cabs to dUg amp. Plug and play. End of story.
I've met a lot of people on TB that pm'ed me that they had great experiences with Jorg. I don't know his personal situation but I've heard less complaints about his stuff than some of the major label equipment on TB. It's funny how some complaints draw out the hyenas and tear someone up. Not nice.
Good luck to the OP, hope he gets his gear straightened out, sells it, and buys something pre-built and plug and play. But he can't sell here because he's not a supporting member and says he doesn't come around her that often.
