Well, then you won't get the bisonic pickup (which is kind of odd when you think about it, seeing as the bisonic was originally a Hagström invention).

I friend of mine got one today after a loooong wait. He is very happy indeed. I haven't seen it myself IRL but he tells me the finish is great, nothing like the one that was mentioned here earlier. And the pickups sounds fantastic with flats.

I want one!

I will go on record and say these basses are guilty of the most satisfying thumpy and deep bass I've heard after owning 30 or so basses. I don't understand why Guild puts rounds on them, but nevermind; they are magnificent.

I tried one of those Gretsch HBs and it neck dove like a SOB.

Oh, and as far as neck dive? none as far as I can tell. my modulus q5 neckdives more. the guild sf is just so light...the hardest thing for me to get used to was the size of the body itself and the lack of a rounded edge at the top of the body to rest my arm on. wristbands are a necessity.

Yeah, but that was the early 70's. What you can do with electronics today DWARFS what was available then. That's what makes that bass so insane...

it's the most beautiful instrument i think i've ever seen.

that shade of brilliant red is lovely...i wish they did more colour options, though.
