I had a chance to play with it (new chip) yesterday, and I definitely hear what Grooove is saying in the "stays open" - the HAZ (my comparison source) definitely puts an attack on each note in an moderately fast bassline, whereas this currently opens for the first note and then stays that way.

its not neccesarily a setback, its just the biggest difference i'm hearing between this and a mutron.

and for me its not even neccesarily "fast" passages (where youd expect any filter to not have a chance to close.) playing not-speedy motown style grooves, it still tends to stay open (making it appear very gentle and polite.)

And that's where we differ, mainly because my knowledge and experience with a Mutron is from a multitude of CDs and memories from fiddling with one at a studio years ago, so I can't comment on how exact it is to the original with any real sort of authority. How it sounds and reacts is a different story.

Oddly enough, that open, lagging filter sound with some slower grooves I think I can use in a LOT of our tunes. I'll have to bring it to rehearsal tomorrow and see what the group thinks (aside from hearing "That LED is blinding me!")

No problem. It was one of those "Holy crap!" moments before I even played a note with the thing. It seems to match well with my RoadRage looper; the LEDs on that thing are about as bright. I think my pedalboard is searing my retinas, one stomp at a time.

glad i'm not crazy in thinking this was a big "problem" for this filter thus far (as far as mutron authenticity is concerned.)

i dont think so.. but dont know why i havent heard about this yet. looks like a lot of the features/ideas from the mutron clone exist there, though..

According to the site, looks like Spencer isn't making the original GR anymore, so maybe this is just an updated and/or stripped down version based on user input?

makes sence. looks pretty nice but not neccesarily any more appetising than a regular GR to me, (wich i have yet to try :scowl:)

You and me both. Although at the blowout price, it might not be a bad idea.

hmmmmmm, i think i feel little pissed now ... when the summer sale was going on i asked before if that indicated a new version (see below) .... then i would have rather waited for the V2.0 .... then i ordered the old version, sux :-(

@Spencer: does the summer sale indicate GR V2.0?

I'm having the sale because last year I noticed that my sales slowed way down in the summer months. I'm trying to be proactive about that this year.

Nope, just the newest version of the Groove Regulator. I was getting a lot of requests for mods and I just don't have the time to do them, so I incorporated the most-requested features.

That groove regulator 2 looks to good, especially being able to run the effects loop even when the pedal isn't engaged. I think i might have just picked up some GAS.

Gutted I just bought an original GR! Oh well, I would only really use the wet/dry blend from the new features anyway.

Actually it's still there, I just moved it inside the pedal.

Same as intensity, I just renamed it to make it more intuitive.

Does it feature the new tronish adjustments or sound true to the classic GR?

I play lots of bass parts on my keyboard, and I had my GR's feedback switch on all the time. I can't speak for how it affects bass guitar, but my keyboard loved it! It added just enough bite to lows, mids and highs. I'm glad it's still there somewhere!
