Double Bass New Acoustic Image 'DOUBLESHOT'

Upon listening to the Double Shot in Jacobs Hall at Indiana University at the 2019 ISB convention, I found it to be very good at projecting sound into the house without overpowering the ensemble. Ron Carter was using it for the first time\it sounded infinitely better than the Epifani cabinet Clarius system he had previously used at Rochester in 2013 and that cabinet was elevated on a speaker stand. While the Double Shot was elevated upon a table it still had low end the Epifani just lost the low end that high in the air.

DbSht with Quilter Interbass Testimonial:

Today the guitarist was out (keys/bass/drs/Choir), so I thought it might be a good chance to try a "Microhead" with the DS.
Gotta say other than the upper extreme of dynamics the DS+Interbass was really great. Lots of punch and 'just' enough headroom to carry. 45W @ 4Ω was surprisedly rich and clear!

Both the DS and UpShot are great for small/med gigs and rehearsals, but I'd have no qualms about taking the DS to a large gig—and if its that big of a gig, theres aways FOH if they need more.

Impressed. I used this double-shot for this first time doubling EB and DB this week. With the Clarus SL it was surprisingly warmer and and less clinical than my Contra combo. I compared it directly with my TrickFish rig for doubling and the AI was an easy win for that application as a whole. The Clarus 2 is nicely voiced for this cab using a Realist Lifeline. The EB (with TI flats) sounded a bit better balanced with the TrickFish rig, but the fact the whole rig fits in a AI backpack is just a massive pleasing bonus. I am pretty excited to know I have a solid double duty rig.

I'm guessing the answer is "no", but to confirm--has anyone located a usable padded cover for the Doubleshot? Would love to find something like the covers on my Genzer cabs--slide over the top with a simple cutout for the handle...
Is there a tom case that would fit? I don’t know the dimensions of the DS. I use a hard tom case for my AI Contra Series II.

Is anyone using the Doubleshot with a Quilter 800 Bass Block? My DS is on order, and I’m wondering if the Quilter can perch on top OK.
Also - is there a consensus on how to orient the DS wrt the audience/drummer/me? What points at what? (I was on overload by page 20 of the thread!)

the DS' rubber stoppers/feet (to hold the amp) are about 6" apart - so the BassBlock should perch against them fine... but due to the fact that the cab is arched, you'll need to add some 1/2" (or larger) rubber feet to the bottom (if not already installed). —I even added some feet to my InterBass to keep it from rocking.

placing the amp on stage is not a concern —think of it as "omni directional". Its easy enough to pick up and re-orient as you're getting use to the new cab. (In the pic above, I even play with the cab in front of me on a really narrow stage without a problem—no worries:thumbsup:

What is this “patience” of which you speak?
Nah, it’s fine. Just more exciting when it does arrive.

Patience is something I heard about once but have never personally experienced.

Enjoy that wonderful new speaker when it arrives. Congratulations !!
