New Aguilar AG 700!

Nope. Knob settings rarely, if ever, are an indicator of measured output level. Just because all the pointers on the respective knobs on the two amps "match up", does not mean they are equal. To be a truly effective test of tonal differences one would match the volume levels between the two amps to avoid "loudness bias". Knob position is irrelevant, here.
Dude, this wasn't an attempt to be anything close that, it's a poopy iPhone video.
Point is, folks are making judgements on the two amps using your video as the sonic evidence. You may not be familiar with the concept of one perceiving the louder amp as being the better amp. I'm just pointing out the fact that one can not pass judgement on which is the better of the two amps in question, that's all. Chill out, Roy.
Besides, your comment that the AG700 is "just louder" because the knobs are set to the same positions is, still, just plain wrong. It may very well be the louder of the two amps (I would hope so given it is a more powerful amp, all else being equal), but knob position is not the reason why, as that is, simply, meaningless, in and of itself.

I'm chill,and don't worry, I'll make a proper video when possible (like I stated before) I'll have control over the volume as it funnels in and out of the DAW.
Thanks very much for the video, it was much appreciated. Most of us are not stupid (I hope) and are able to listen to tone rather than/as well as relative volume. Yes, I did realise and expect the 700 to be a tad louder, but I still preferred the tone of the 700 over the tone hammer. I liked its transparency.
I look forward to hearing a your next video comparison but regardless I am grateful for your efforts already.

I was aware about the volume differences when I made that comment but I didn´t care because I heard the difference anyway but I get the point. Two weeks ago I was very tempted to get a AG700 but since then I´ve listenenig a to another amp with more flexible EQ and a bit warmer soundwise @ youtube so I haven´t decided yet. I also appreciate your time and dedication.
We seem to both be on the lookout for similar goals. May I ask what is the other amp you are considering?

Does anyone have thoughts on or tried the ag700 running into a sl410x with a sl112 on top? I was thinking that if the sl410x was 4 ohm with the sl112 being 8 ohm, the power handling would be about perfect with a 2/3 and 1/3 split running at 2.67 ohms. I already have a pair of sl112 cabs but was looking to update and this possibility seemed interesting. The 112 would get the sound source closer to ear level and may add some interesting mid coloring. Thoughts?
Just picked one of these up. Just curious does anyone have a little bit of a delay between when they flip the power switch and a 'click' when the amp actually powers on? Trying to figure out if this is normal or if I need to send it back to Sweetwater. Seems kind of weird. Thanks.

All my class D heads have done that iirc.
If you turn it off and then on really quickly, does it sometimes take a bit longer for the amp to actually power on? Thanks for the reply!

I think all my amps, class D and AB, from multiple companies do that - it's like they do a self check and/or have a safe power up time to prevent speaker damage.
Appreciate it, seems like sometimes the delay will be only a second or two, sometimes it can last several seconds. Just thought it was kind of strange.
