New Aguilar AG 700!

Appreciate it, seems like sometimes the delay will be only a second or two, sometimes it can last several seconds. Just thought it was kind of strange.

This is related to the inrush current and the rate at which bulk capacitors charge and discharge (i.e. its not immediate upon power off). So when you turn something off and then back on again quickly the delay you are seeing is a protective mechanism.

I'm late to the party... I just ordered an AG700 to pair with my two SL112's.

I sold my TH500 a short while ago because I wasn't playing much and I "needed" to purchase an ATV. I'm glad I kept my cabs because I'm ready to play again.

I bought an AG 700 and it arrived two days ago. In my rehearsal room it sounds great. I will use it on my gig tomorrow but that is upright bass and not really what I think will be the best application for the AG 700. Next Friday I have a gig on electric bass and will try the AG700 with a pair of GS112 cabs. I have been using my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 with those cabs and it sounds great with my G.Gould ggi6.

The AG 700 seems very easy to use...simple EQ...and sounds great with all the knobs centered. I always think it is a good sign when I don't start out with the EQ tweaked a bunch to get a good tone. It seems a winner so far.

+1 This is a must for me if I'm going to buy an amp...its inherent voicing has got to be close to what I'm looking for or I keep looking.

I used my AG 700 Saturday night with upright bass and a Mesa Subway 112 cab. The room is a very tricky one to get a good tone because it tends to sound boomy. I was easily able to dial in a great tone with the AG 700. The EQ frequencies are just about perfect. Friday night I will use it again with a pair of GS 112's and my G.Gould ggi6. That will give the amp an opportunity to flex its muscles!

I did at NAMM, not sure what ohm the cab was and I wasn't allowed to crank it (sound police), it sounded great, not as bright as my GK MB410, a little more "pleasant".

Thanks - I'm sure it'll sound great. Just wondering what the trade off is balance wise, if one cab is 8, and the other 4 Ohm?

Good question, In theory, you will only get 700w total with either 1-4ohm, 2- 8 ohm or 4 ohm + 8 ohm, in the last case, only a third of the power will go to the 8 ohm cab so it should sound unbalanced.

That said, I doubt any player needs more than 700w into a single 4ohm 410 unless you're playing arenas and those gigs have backline.

Just got my Aguilar AG700 in and so far doing side by side with my Genzler 800 I have to say it sounds amazing and may unseat it as my favorite amp. I've owned the Mesa 800 and 800+ and the Genzler was my favorite but this AG700 atleast in my practice room sounds better and the EQ is more to my liking than any I've used. Cleaner and deeper than any amp I've owned. Will see what this baby does tomorrow in live band setting with 2 gigs.

First gig report for the Aguilar 700 and it is amazing. Played through my Genzler 210-3 arrays this morning and the tone was exactly what I've wanted. Every note was thick, clear and the low end was fealty in your bones lol. My new favorite amp has been found.

Well after 2 live gigs yesterday my bandmates loved and said they liked it better than my Genzler 800. I have to say this is the tone I've been after since getting rid of my Ampeg SVT 3-pro head. This amp hits harder than any I've seen through my Genzler BA210-3 Arrays and has the focus and clarity needed in the mids and highs. I'm just loving it so far.
