I use my Alembic SF-2 Superfilter through my TH500`s send/return loop for additional EQ and get all the treble I need.
I can imagine doing the same for the AG700 as/if required.

New Aguilar AG 700!

Just took the plunge and bought an AG 700. When it arrives Ill do a head to head with my Mesa D800. Then a live gig test.

I had a D800 for a minuet. Thought it would be the perfect amp for me -- on paper -- , but after a few gigs, I was just not bonding with it.

There's a missing information on website, I've found one from the manual:
"Bright: +6 dB >3 kHz"

That's right. Likewise, "Deep" boosts 6 dB less than 250 Hz even the Bass knob works at 40 Hz.
I just got an AG700 yesterday. Two questions:
- The fans come on after 2-3 minutes of playing, even at extremely low volume. It that normal? The fans sound discrete but I thought they only come on after the amp heats up.
- Can the amp be used unloaded? (without any speakers connected)

Thanks. Love it so far! Cleaner and tighter than the TH 500 but still warm and musical sounding. If it's as reliable as the TH has been I'll be one happy camper. Anyone used it with the Mesa Boogie Subway 115? My intuition is that it would work great. Clear but warm, punchy and most importantly even sound. ......in a lightweight box!!!!
Do any of you that have this head happen to have any experience with the Genzler MG800?

I see a lot of discussion comparing the AG700 to the Mesa Subway D800. Both amps use the Icepower 700asc as the power module. So the discussion really centers on the preamp. It really depends on the voicing you prefer. If you are lucky enough to have both amps, then you have 2 great amps. My comparison is with my Genz-Benz Shuttle 9.0 which has a tube preamp and Icepower 250asx2 power section. Both amps are great and it depends on what voicing I choose for a particular gig.

How does D-800 push 800 watts out of 700-watt power amp? I checked online pics and it does seem like D-800 has 700asc power amp inside, but I don't know how they make it happen.
