New Aguilar Compressor pedal: "TLC Compressor"

No damage. I don't have a problem with anyone's opinions. Although, are you the guy who called me a "drunk bozo with blinders on"? Totaly unwarranted. I have NEVER worn blinders!

Dave B.

:D
I'm invoicing you for the new computer monitor after spitting coffee at it unintentionally!! Besides I'm sure your a 'fun' drunk.

In other news, I need to stop fantasizing about Aguilar gear.

why this pedal of all things, are people criticizing the paint and name..? my analogman chorus is both blue and simply called a "chorus." damn, let me go put it up for sale.. for that price i better get a stupid name and a great paintjob to stomp on..

anyway, i cant wait to hear reviews on this thing..

Man, how am I going to redeem myself after calling it "The Compressor". I really can read. Honest! I even understood the TLC part in the original post, but overlooked it in the title. I just got new glasses, and last night's beer had long since worn off.

Anyway, I apologize for my earlier ignorant post. Send my fifteen of these units in hot pink!

I just don't understand all the b****ing about names and visuals guys.

IMHO I expect pedals from a company like Aguilar to be a professional tool, not a status symbol or designer piece of artwork to make chicks swoon and guitar players jealous.

If they sound great I don't care what they look like or what they're name is.

I know this outlook is completely foreign to 90% of the traffic in the Effects forum.

agreed, effects are about sound, not looks.

Yeah, I noticed my error when I reread this thread this evening. I don't know how I mistook "TLC" for "The". Must have been before the morning coffee kicked in.

You read "The" because it said "The". I edited the title to correct my mistake so even before your morning coffe was "on" your eyes where working fine :D

No more info about this comp?

Dave, have you got an estimate of when it'll hit the market?

We should be shipping them January 1st. So, eight weeks, maybe less. We're sending out a press release this afternoon. I'm pretty sure it will show on the Talkbass home page soon. Feel free to PM me for specs in the meantime.

Assuming this has the same slide out battery compartment in the front of the pedal, I think they should make versions of both of these pedals without the compartment for those of us who prefer a smaller footprint and don't like batteries.

I've found this info:
"The TLC Compressor™ is designed to give musicians the ability to control their dynamics in a flexible and musical way, making it an invaluable musical tool for both recording and live use. Our proprietary Trans Linear Control (TLC) circuit enables us to achieve unprecedented levels of performance in a small package.

The TLC Compressor™ features a four-knob layout to provide a full set of important features. Using a wide range of attack times and variable threshold and slope levels, you'll be able to dial in just the right sound. Aguilar's TLC Compressor™ gives you a range of control usually found only in expensive studio compressors.

Features:
Threshold control: variable from -30 to -10 dBu
Slope control: variable from 2:1 to infinity
Attack control: variable from 10ms to 100ms
Level control: -infinity to -3dBu
Low Distortion: (<0.2 %)
Gig-saver bypass (signal passes even if your battery dies)
Power: Nine-volt battery or optional universal power supply
Heavy Duty steel construction
Battery life >100 hours

The TLC Compressor will be released in January 2010 and carries a US MSRP of $269."
