New Aguilar Compressor pedal: "TLC Compressor"

Aguilar has been taking lots of criticism for the form factor of this line of pedals, but if you look at the pic, they fit perfectly on two slats of the Pedaltrain and the jacks are positioned so that right angle connectors can be draped over the top of the row. Very tidy if you ask me.

The Octamizer is 9vDC so I'd honestly expect the Compressor to be the same. The connector and label on the top of the pedal for power in the image shown appears identical to the Octamizer.

i wouldent expect it to be 9vDC just because the octamizer is- octave pedals gennerally dont need any more power. compressors most often do... but it does appear to be 9vDC.. i hope. really.

Yeah, I'd like to see Bongo review this pedal. Although, with his past criticism of Aguilar, I would say we have a better chance of making snowmen in hell than seeing him get a pedal for review. ;)

Yeah, I have done some damage to that bridge. I think Dave and I kind of "made up" at the end of our dialogue in the octaver thread, and I have agreed to stop criticizing the form factor of the pedals, but of course I've been calling them names and kvetching about Aguilar's decisions for some time now, so I don't expect any favors from them. :)

If it works well, it is a good pedal. However, I don't mind if it has a snazzy name and cool paintjob/graphics. If I built/desogned pedals, this would be part of the fun.
I do prefer the control be labeled plainly though.

No damage. I don't have a problem with anyone's opinions. Although, are you the guy who called me a "drunk bozo with blinders on"? Totaly unwarranted. I have NEVER worn blinders!

I was gonna say, I don't really see any problem with it on the immediate surface. As long as it's not oversized or too oddly shaped to fit right on a pedalboard, I'm good with it.

I do understand the clear labeling issue, though. That's an important technical detail to the function of a pedal. The color of the paint, however, is not...

The color is not important, but I like the fact that it's different from the Octamizer and I hope that if Aguilar releases more pedals, they all have different colors so I can ask my drummer or piano player for "the blue box" and they don't need to figure out what I'm talking about.

+1

You're just going to step on it anyway.. who care what it looks like.. I rather like the way it looks.. simple and to the point.. I dont need my gear hand painted by an Andy Warhol wannbe

So +1 again to your post

I just don't understand all the b****ing about names and visuals guys.

IMHO I expect pedals from a company like Aguilar to be a professional tool, not a status symbol or designer piece of artwork to make chicks swoon and guitar players jealous.

If they sound great I don't care what they look like or what they're name is.

I know this outlook is completely foreign to 90% of the traffic in the Effects forum.

Of course. We don't need to confuse the drummers any more than they already are. ;)
