New amp from EDEN! WTP900

Reading the manual it SEEMS like it can be bridged to 4 ohms, in a very roundabout way. As in, 1 8 ohm cab in each "channel" in "bridged" mode. So if you have a 4 ohm cab... you're out of luck.

I will say the manual for this new series is MUCH more useful than older versions (read the WT-800 manual... NO useful technical info at all), but it still feels like a bunch of sound and fury over nothing. The Carvin BX1500 and 1600 manual is 1 page, front and back. It's got just as many knobs and switches yet explains it all better in 1/10th the page count. I'm looking at you Eden technical writers...

I'm surprised by this move as well. It was speculated that they are going to discontinue the WT line after this since these seem to blend both the function of the nav with the power of a WT800.

IMO Eden has yet again missed the mark on innovation. Gigging pros need an amp with this power into 4 ohms as small and light as possible. This is just rehashed old gear from the 90's. I bet it sounds great though...

The WT line has always sounded fine.
If I were still using it, I'd opt out of their power sections though, as they've always been over-rated, at least in my book.
A Navigator into a biga**, real power amp is a very good thing, but 4 rack space rigs are just too 1980 for me.

Ya know, it seems a lot of the manufacturers are making bigger heavier amps these days when compared to the Micros. Fender released a old school heavy tube amp last year, Mesa released a pair of heavy tube amps, Ampeg released the B15 and V4 again. Granted these are tube amps but the point is they're heavy.

Who knows, perhaps we're all wrong here on TB and the general population doesn't mind heavy gear.

That is exactly correct. There are just some crazy idiots who will use whatever amp gets their tone across regardless of the weight. I don't know what they're thinking...the important thing is making the schlep easy, not the actual gig itself.

EDIT: That was a joke BTW. I've been guilty of making my schlep easy with micros, too. They sound good, too, but not like my heavy stuff. But at least if I make my amp schlep easy, I still bring a 10-lb DI ;)

i owned a wt550 back in the day and miss it at times.
the new face panel layout looks like a mess.
not bridging to 4 ohms will be a deal breaker for a lot of people. my 550 would run down to 2 ohms?
3.5mm inputs seem a little flimsy for a product like this.
wonder how much these will cost?
I really hope they didn't mess with the tone stack at all.
I still think used eden gear represents some of the best value out there as long as you stay away from the cursed run of 800's.
Hope they do ok with this, guess I have a soft spot for the brand.

and I so agree with Chef and complained about it many years ago....Eden amps always felt underpowered for their claimed specs....had a WT400 and WT800
I always needed more speakers than other amps...Trace Elliot , Gallien, Hartke ,
and my eyes were opened when I switched to Markbass...which seemed so much louder for much less wattage

BUT.....Sure loved the tone and sound
