New amp from EDEN! WTP900

I didn't realize they were still so big and heavy...I didn't look at the weight or dimensions...I'm still a little torn on the looks...it looks slick, but maybe in the way my kid sees the latest happy meal toy? that probably isn't very fair to say, but it looks a little gaudy in comparison to the new DNA amp, or the new trickfish...I also think the tech 21 amps look sweet, too...the clean, less is more, look...I bet it sounds great, though...I've been playing a wt800c with the porch light lately, and I used a navigator for several years...it was worth the haul in a 6 space rack...I love the eden sound, but I won't be going after one of the new ones any time soon

I checked it out a little at NAMM. The speaker output jacks have different colored idiot lights in them ostensibly to keep you from plugging in speaker combinations that would damage the amp. The learning curve on what all the lights mean seemed a little steep to me, and the whole concept too gimmicky. Having looked at the manual now, I'd characterize it as pathetic. It does not clearly describe what the lights mean in different settings. Are there two bridge modes, standard and series? There should be example diagrams of different connections.

Actually the WT-800 B and C models do bridge into 4 ohms for 1,100 watts. That was the big beef with the A model, so Eden fixed it. Now I can't believe they've retrogressed.

Agreed. I have a WT-550 and as many know it's a 2 ohm capable amp. Now we're headed back to late 90's? technology of only being able to bridge in to an 8 ohm load.....a step backwards indeed.

I can 'almost' guarantee that I will never sell my WT-400.
I can absolutely guarantee that I will never purchase another Eden product.
Sadly, for this consumer the brand is tainted. I wish it weren't so. :(
With so many great alternatives available in the marketplace I will not suffer.
