Double Bass New Amp

For quite a few years now ive been carting around my big H H 100w combo amp which strains your arms everytime you try and move it!
Ive now decided to get a small, light one that still has at least 100W of power to use at small and medium gigs.
My budget is about £300 (not much i know, but im a student!)
Also the amp needs to work with my guitar as well as my high impedance pickup for the upright!

Ive been looking at the Hartke Kickback 10 but any advice or suggestions would be nice.

Check out the Behringer offerings. I've been using a 450 Watt Behringer head with my 212 Ampeg cab until can get a head with 2 channels. It's a lot of bang for the buck and they do make some combos as well. The head I'm using can be had for about U$D 250, so your budget might work for one of their combos. Behringer speakers have some durability issues, but the company has a generous replacement policy if you get a lemon. And the price is right.

How 'bout the new Fender Bassman 100 combo. Nice 10" eminence speaker, about 30 lbs. I think. They go new here for $350 USD. I actually became aware of them when a college student DBer brought one to a jam. He didn't use a pre so I imagine it was okay. I'm coming to the opinion that optimally all DB pickups would gain from an outboard pre. Even something with a high-impedence input.

Behringer don't seem to have anything suitable, but after looking the fender bassman 100 seems to be fairly similar to the hartke kickback 10 except slightly less powerful and more expensive! If i can find a somewhere to try each of them out i could then decide. I don't use a preamp though that is a possibility!
